We had a last minute schedule change in our Alaska itinerary and needed to find accommodation near Anchorage (we did not want to be in the city) . We searched from Seward to Denali and everything was full aside from basic motels. We found Meier Lake. The pictures online were lovely. I booked it and missed that there was no plumbing in the rooms. They have a shared “shower house”. My husband and I discovered that later and decided to be open to a unique experience. The “cabins” are a single room with a bed, one comfortable chair and a metal uncomfortable chair. So either you sat on the bed or someone sat in the metal chair. The room is smaller than a hotel room and there is no storage for your things. The room has cheap flooring that squeaked and buckled when you walked on it. Breakfast was delivered to our deck at 8 AM and consisted of a thermos of coffee. We declined pastries. There was no alternative. I would have been thrilled with 2 boiled eggs but I was told there was no alternative despite the the big kitchen I caught a glimpse of in the main building. The place was empty thankfully. So if you have so few guests why not try a little to impress the ones you have? Online reviews rave about the shower house. It is NOT spa-like. It is basic 1990 design with cheap shower enclosures. It was heated nicely. And what did we pay for 3 nights with no plumbing ...$954. I called and said I would pay for a fourth night as our flight from Anchorage was 10:30 PM. I was shocked to see I was charged $378 to stay until 6 PM the next day. I saw online the rate was the same as the other nights but they elected to charge me more despite the empty resort. The small lake is pleasant to look at. That is the only positive thing I can say. The website does not represent the product. I had minimal interaction with the staff or owner, but I did not get a...

We stayed here a few months ago! What a relaxing and wonderful stay. The grounds are just breathtaking! The sun sets behind the lake and every direction you look is like a snapshot from a postcard. The energy was calm and inviting and the breeze was soft and lovely. We had an unforgettable stroll through the woods where they have a disc golf course (seems like it would interfere with the view but it certainly does not) I have never played but it looks fun. Then we sat with a few other guests for a wonderful chat by the campfire. We sipped wine and ate cheese and talked well into the night. We even had a chance to meet the owners. They sat down and talk with us for a long while. We had so much in common. Really just wonderful people. It is clear they truly care about their guests. We were not there for a wedding but I did get to see one. It was beautiful! I could totally imagine my wedding being something like that....Soft, Simple and Elegant. Everyone was laughing and having such a good time. I could see the staff buzzing about and taking care of the attendees needs. It was a lovely event from what I could tell and seeing all the flowers and beautiful decorations just added to the whole experience. I felt totally decompressed when we left. If you visit Alaska (even if you live here) you just have to see this place...It is like a trip to...

Update: the management did the best job in reaching out and trying to make things right unfortunately due to an emergency i was unable to make the reservation however i feel by the numerous efforts put forth by the management that it would have been wonderful i give them an A for effort and hope to try them in the future

That chicken dinner let's talk about the chicken dinner and how I sent my guest there and how disappointed I am😑 So my guest attended only to find out that didn't have a reservation under their name!!!! Even after me speaking on the phone with someone!!! And me letting them know their names it was still made under mine!!! then they were truly with nothing... but attitude and seated at a bar and given possibly the worst un chhopped salad of their life!!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ This was supposed to be a dinner so they can unstress😡 I am highly disappointed I should have never sent anyone here without trying it 1st as a Google reviewer and the top of one of Alaska's Google reviewer i will not be featuring this place in my convention vide im highly disappointed I don't recommend this place for anyone based on the service that was received...

A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Your Own Private Resort Meier Lake Hotel is one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed. With only 12 cabins, the sense of seclusion and peace is unmatched—you truly feel like you’re the owner of your own private resort. Each cabin is beautifully appointed and nestled into the natural surroundings, offering comfort, privacy, and incredible views. The Social Club is a highlight—elegant yet cozy, it’s the perfect spot to relax, read, play games, or just take in the serene lake setting. It brings a warm sense of community, yet still maintains the tranquil ambiance that makes this place so unique. What sets Meier Lake apart even more is the presence of the owner on-site. You can feel the love and care in every detail, and it’s clear that this is more than just a hotel—it’s a passion project. The staff is warm, attentive, and truly dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape where you can truly unplug and unwind, Meier Lake Hotel is it. I can’t wait to return.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful cabin by the lake, and I can’t recommend it enough. The setting was absolutely serene, nestled right on the waters edge with breathtaking views and peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. But what truly made the experience exceptional was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was polite, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat with top-notch hospitality, this is the place.
