Our entire family stayed here for a weekend for a family reunion in the Spalding and Greeley area. It was our first time staying at the Cardinal Inn. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I can not believe the staff at this place. My sister was booked for Thurs and Fri night and wanted to add on Saturday night since the rodeo was going on and they didn't want to miss it. Saturday am before check out they went to the front desk and asked if their room was available for one more night. The woman called the Manager and cleared it with her. She said it was no problem at all and that they didn't even need to change rooms because their room wasn't booked again until July 26th so they didn't bother packing and left for the day to enjoy the reunion activities. When they arrived back at the hotel Saturday, at 11:00 pm, they found their belongings in the lobby! A different staff member at the front told them that they had to change their room and that they had rented their old room already. The staff had packed up their belongings and left it in the lobby for several hours! They also didn't pack up everything, the staff left my sisters iPad in the room that they had already rented out and was occupied by someone else!! Clearly they did NOT CHANGE THE SHEETS or else they would have noticed the iPad. We were completely appalled and will NEVER stay here again, nor will we recommend it! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. In addition to my sisters experience our room was dirty, the AC didn't work and the "fresh" towels were delivered damp...
Read moreVery nice rooms and good location. The only issue i had is after checking out, getting my receipt, and departing, the FOLLOWING day, they charged me $25 for checking out 15 min late. I was there 6 days and was there due to a death in the family and was attending the viewing, funeral, and other related activities for the death of my loved one. Everything from flights, rent a cars, etc, clipped me for various add ed on charges at time when it’s already a stressful trip. I was really happy that the Cardinal Inn didn’t seem to try and get deeper in my pockets. BUT, they did, after I left, charging my account another $25 for 15 minutes. I gave this place high ratings in all the categories available because it was a nice place. But I was furious that they snuck in a $25 “late charge” after I had spent over $525 there, and lots if $$ supporting area restaurants and stores. Here is the end result though: i have a family reunion trip in the area agaun in June, and was going to stay at the Cardinal Inn. This would cost me approximately $1100 dollars. Well, i am canceling my June stay with them. I truly hope that $25 was more important to them than the $1100 i would be spending there in 3 months. And I will be passing this along to other family members that i had previously suggested stay there for our reunion. They too will be cancelling. Enjoy that $25 Cardinal management, i’ll be spending my $$ elsewhere. I will also be copying and pasting this rant on all my social...
Read moreAs a regular business traveler who understands nowhere is perfect, I thought hard about this review before posting. While it was clean, good service, nice breakfast and convenient if you need to go to Albion (I was there on business). HOWEVER, I decided to go ahead and leave the 3-star review as it was a night I got very little sleep due to the LASER LIGHT SHOW in my room with the motion detector (felt like I was being watched via video camera) that would blink BRIGHT red and green lights every time you move in the room. So at night, when you're trying to sleep, every time you adjust the covers, move an elbow, the lights flash ON! Add to that the five other neon lights (yes, I counted because had nothing else to do all night since couldn't sleep) on TV, smoke detector (also had red/green flashing lights), and bathroom nightlights that can't be shut off. If you like sleeping with more flashing lights than a funhouse, this is your place. wouldn't...
