Runza Restaurant — Restaurant in Albion

So this review reflects two recent visits to the restaurant while I was in the area visiting family.

Friday June 28th: no runzas. My brother speculated that all the Runza sandwiches were probably at the local race track where they had a mobile restaurant selling the sandwich. Disappointing, because it's had been years since I had one.

Dining room thermostat read 78F. Was quite warm and unpleasant.

While at the register, I watched as another customers order came up in the kitchen window. Fries fell out and the staff threw them in the trash(presumably). Later from the dining room I witnessed onion rings fall out of the container on to the kitchen window (without tray) but since no customers were by the register,they were thrown back into the container of frings and served.

Monday July 1st. Drive thru. Well what do you know, they have runzas....kinda. what I got was a runza sandwich, wrapper drenched in grease, side splayed open and a stack of cheese slices unmelted... Fries were also undercooked.

What the hell...

The woman at the front window was just awful. We waited 5 minutes to have our order taken with one car in front of us. The lady was extremely rude. I’m not one to typically complain, but this was the worst fast food experience I’ve ever had. The lady at the window continued to scream, “Yup.” at everything I asked. She slammed the window on my face both when I asked for ketchup, and asked to make sure it was in the bag. The food was slathered with mayo and it was overall disgusting. I didn’t finish my meal. Lack of competition in the area has caused the staff to slack off and not care about basic...

Our party of two stopped here for lunch today while cruising on some scenic rural state highways through miles of ag land and small towns. Pros One attentive, enthusiastic, and friendly counter worker in spite of an uber busy lunch crowd Lettuce and tomatoes on a hamburger unlike the bigger city versions of the same food choice Convenient location Cons Lack of exit signs in the parking lot traffic pattern One seater restroom Very congested space for ordering food, filling drink cups for onsite customers, and restroom access Overly salty, short, and well done...
