American Inn — Hotel in Allendale

Coming through town, I only found three active motels and after doing a couple of drive-bys, selected this one. It cost me about $40 and there was a credit card surcharge applied. That the innkeeper brought a can of air freshener with her to show me the room suggested what I would find. The room did have an odd odor to it that eluded identification. The carpet was vacuumed and the bathroom surfaces were fairly clean. The bed sheets and towels were fresh. The walls and ceiling could have used a good dusting. The walls themselves were in need of repair and paint. The door had no peephole nor was there a window by the door. There was a working TV and microwave, but the refrigerator was dead. In the morning, the only breakfast place was a Hardees about a 1/2 mile south.||Did I feel safe? Yes, several work crews were using the Court for lodging and I saw nothing to cause concern. Looking to rest over in peace and quietness, well their SC spot is ideal for this. The area is pretty light with pedestrian and traffic, which adds to the tranquility. The motel is ground level so you don't have to worry about climbing a stairs nor taking a lift. Designated parking access immediately to your door. Mini mart, gas station, vehicle service shop and dollar tree store close proximity. SC Uni in close proximity also. The Allendale SC town is pretty rural so don't expect much excitement, almost nothing to do there.

I had a great five-night stay here. First, the price was great, especially for a place without bugs in this area. Second, it was a nice, quiet place to stay and, third, the owner, KP, has wonderful customer service. Not only did he ask several times if i needed anything, but he also showed me the room beforehand to be sure that i didn't need anything else. He is a very polite man and nice to speak with. Overall, this place is great, and KP is wonderful. 10/10 would...
