The first time we went there was awesome, Ranger Kevin was great. The second time we went there wasn't so good. We found out that Kevin had left and the new female ranger was kinda rude. I needed a spot with full hookups because I am disabled, they have zero disabled spots which is an ADA violation. The new ranger found me a spot which was on a very steep hill. Since it was a one way road and my rig was too big to take that one way road, she made back it up to the spot which caused my motorhome to overheat. When backing into my spot my driver side mirror was in the bushes, and I told her that and she said it was OK. Well, it cracked my mirror. When I told her that my mirror was cracked, she just shrugged her shoulders and said oh well. At this time, my motorhome was really overheating when I finally got into my spot. I told her that I could have driven straight up to the spot and maneuver my rig by the only laundry room that they had and my motorhome wouldn't have overheated. She told me that if I did that, that she would have given me a ticket for going the wrong way on a one way street. I had to call an RV technician to come and check my motorhome, which cost me $300.00. Fortunately there was no damage to my motorhome. At least I can say, the spot was nice. It was a horrible experience, especially with the yellow jackets swarming everywhere. My wife, my dogs and I were stung so many times, we spent most on our time inside our motorhome. They totally need more sites with full hookups. We might try one more time. If they don't have any sites with full hookups for us, we will just leave. We really like the place, but it needs more work to make it better, especially for disabled people.

Charming little high country retreat. It’s got all of the awesome amenities you’d expect to find at a Thousand Trails campground- all maintained with detailed care. (The jacuzzi jets are river rafting caliber, lol) The staff go out of their way to be friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I’m a tent camper and went ahead and purchased an annual ‘Camping Pass’ (with the Pacific Northwest upgrade that I cannot wait to use this coming summer btw!!!), This pretty lil place is becoming my semi-nomadic home between nomadic homes, providing me with a beautiful respite while enabling me to spend time aiding my elderly grandparents, who live in the nearby town of Alpine. For this alone the value is unmatchable, Nomadically speaking. But further more, I am so grateful for the authentic kindness of the staff, who are friendly and gracious yet maintain polite distance. You know they will be there if you need them but they give you space and as much privacy as a campground this size can offer. Oh yeah- it’s a high volume campground without feeling like a high volume campground if you know what I mean. Lots of stars. (In the *mostly* light-pollution free night sky sense AND also in the consumer review sense.) More than five stars for sure though.

We stayed here last minute for memorial weekend. The number provided just rings and rings, so we didn't know what to expect once we arrived. We had a tent reservation, when we arrived we were able to pick our spot and was given a packet with information and the man at the gate was really helpful. Any questions we had during the weekend he was able to help. Our tent site had water and electric which was good, the size was big enough, our tent is 14x8 feet big, also came with a picnic tables and a fire pit. No fires were permitted but could use charcoal or a pressed log like duraflame. The pool was clean and refreshing, the store was very great, the staff were all very friendly. They had ice, beer, snacks, wood and lots more. They had a band on Saturday night and a manic show during the day for the kids. We are planning on returning for my kids birthday weekend. I recommend this place to anyone who likes a fun weekend with their family. Thanks again to all the staff!! Oh and the bathrooms and trash areas are the cleanest I've ever seen compared to other sites we have stayed at too!!

This is a very well kept park. It could use more sewer sites the only ones are on the North side of the park! The park is not exactly big rig friendly, we are towing a 44 foot fifth wheel. Getting to the park was a bit sketchy the road in has signs prohibiting anything bigger then 40 feet. We made it to the park from the south with no issues. Later we drove north on 79, the curves about 8 miles north would have been impassable for us. In the park I could not get into the only sewer site available the pitch was to steep and I kept digging into the gravel with my rear bumper. The next site I tried was on the south side and I ended up with the trailers bumper hitch dug into the road so bad that I had to jack it up and walk it out with blocks under the tires. We stayed here for 2 weeks and when we left my bumper hitch scraped the concrete while going past the bathrooms and then again going past the ranger station. My suggestion for anyone over 40 feet is avoid this park, its not worth taking a chance in damaging your rig.

As for the park, it was very well maintained. There is only one shower in the men's room on the south side and it is set up as a wheelchair access able stall, a bit inconvenient for someone that is over 5 foot tall. We were there for 2 weeks with no sewer so we used the showers a lot. They were kept very clean(Great work guys). There was always someone able to get Propane or to answer any questions. In short the staff were wonderful.

I unfortunately will not be returning to this park unless I down size but I would recommend it to anyone that likes a easy going park with...

The simple act of entering this campground requires a difficult near 180 degree U-turn on a downward slope. Our 28 foot class A RV with tow car barely made it. Upon arrival at the guard station, my wife and I informed a ranger named Kevin that we needed a full hookup site. He kindly drove us around in his cart so that we could see all of the available B section sites. Now that is great service! We ended up in site B45 and it was a snug fit for our RV. The B section roads are curvy with several hills to negotiate. Trailers and smaller vehicles won't have any issues but any RVs over 30 feet should go over to the A section. These sites are larger but most of them are water and electric only. This campground sits at 4,100 feet above sea level so it can get quite chilly at night. It is very quiet so quality sleep is not an issue. Beautiful views of the surrounding hills and there is a hiking trail up near the water tower. I left several voicemails for staff members and all of them were returned promptly. The great service continues! Free lodge wifi was slow and we did not try the optional paid wifi. My AT&T phone had 4 bars and the hotspot worked great. Garbage cans are plentiful and recycling bins are even available. Very cool! The B section laundry facilities opened up during our stay. Prices were a bit high at $2.25 to wash and $1.75 to dry, but the machines were in great condition. We filled up on propane on the way out and it was only $3.29 per gallon. Campground store and pool were closed...
