I’ve actually never written a review. My experience will be different than others, but ultimately, what prompts me to write this review is a lack of general humanity and respect. But I’ll start with the room and the hotel.
Hotel is small with a strange entrance and is tucked away. It’s a Best Western in the middle of not too much. You don’t expect too much.
Walking in, the person who checked me in was nice. They couldn’t accommodate a single room so I had to pay for a double and two guests even though it was just me. But that’s fine. I checked in at 4:21.
I got to my room, and it wasn’t very clean. I’m not a person to complain and I had been driving for 12 hours. I was tired. But I’m also observant, so these are the things I noted in my room:
Cigarette burns in the curtains, four or five strange stains on the bed and bedding, outlet next to bed doesn’t work which is why the alarm clock remains unplugged, dead bug next to the bed, toilet handle plastic broken enough to pinch a child’s finger, stains on floor, generally sticky and generally dusty.
Again, I was just going to stay and sleep but shortly after entering i got called for a family emergency. This was around 4:35 or so. I called the front desk and said I had to check out, and ran down. I was at the desk waiting in the line for four or five minutes. When I got to the desk, I said I had to check out because I was having a family emergency and had to hurry up and go. Really at this point I’m not thinking about expressing my feelings about the room and everything I observed that was off about it. I am having an emergency and just am trying to leave. The person behind the desk tells me they will charge me a 35.00 fee because I was in the room for more than thirty minutes. My final receipt reads 4:52. So from check in at the front desk to check out, I was on site from 4:21 to 4:52. 31 minutes. And in the middle of my family emergency they decide they would grant no leniency and make sure to get their 35.00 dollars.
I’ve stayed so many other places that I know would not look to grab some money out of your pocket during a clear emergency. I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreRoom was adequate- Very dusty, walls need to be repainted, hotel was dated, AC unit was filthy. Room smells mildewy when AC is running. Shower made a high- pitched whining noise the entire time it was running. The water also came out in a water fall, so you had to stand right up against the faucet to get any water on yourself. Staff members parked in front of the hotel where guests usually park to check- in, from 1:10pm to about 7:30 in the evening. Asked to see if they had our room available when we got there early (a little after 1pm) with two little children (we arrived early because of the time change from driving across states), and they said they charge an extra $25 to check in early, when most hotels allow you to check in a little early for free. All we wanted to do was unload our things and change the kids diapers so we could go grab something to eat. It seemed a little stingy to me that they would charge to check-in a little early. In the morning, no decaf coffee (which is the only thing I wanted). All in all, would stay here again if room was under $90/ night, because of the area. The area is very quiet and there was a park right down the street for the kids to run around after a long drive. However, the rooms are definitely overpriced for what you get. No one wants to pay premium prices for an uncomfortable, dirty room. Service was meh. I'm giving 2 stars because cons: 1) Rooms were dirty/dated, 2) Rooms were overpriced, 3) They didn't allow early check in without charging more money. Pros: 1) Quiet exit with decent restaurants 2) Free park nearby for...
Read moreWe stayed for a slumber party for 8- 10year old girls on 2/9/13. We originally thought there would be 5 girls staying, but ended up with 8 girls total. We booked an Executive suite for $200.18. At check-in, we received a warm welcome from the girl working the desk. She advised we were 1 of only a couple of guests staying & she gave us a room on the 2nd floor all by ourselves. We thought that was perfect for a bunch of giggling girls. That is where the much anticipated fun evening ended. The pool was quite cold, the fire place in the room & jacuzzi tub faucet did not work. There was a man employee that was lurking around on our floor & staring at our door. The girls were quite upset. When we checked out the next morning, we were told we had too many girls with us. They only knew of 5 & we had 8. I agreed to pay the extra fees for the other 3 girls & reminded them that we had come in the front doors & were not trying to slip anyone in, but the man (same lurking man from the night before) at the desk proceeded to talk over me & act as if I was lying about the faulty items in the room. He dismissed everything I said & didn't listen to a word I was saying. We left quite frustrated & with a bill for $342.25 for a 1 night stay. They charged me another $142.07 for the other 3 girls. I have told everyone that I can to NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. They...
