Excellent place to Camp with your family and pets. Absolutely kid friendly very safe. Some of the sites lack privacy however everyone was very congenial and quiet. Mostly RVs there were a few tent campers also. The facilities were absolutely clean. The grounds very well kept. To no fault of the park some of their trees are loaded with some kind of nut or seed. While we were camping here it was windy and my car received two very large dents from the seeds. As we also had a few bruises from them falling and hitting us could be pretty bad if it were a small child. Be wary of what you're camping under. Being that it's right next to Lake Apopka even with mild weather the mosquitoes are vicious during sunrise and sunset. Mosquito protections absolutely needed. The park rangers and everyone who worked there that we encountered were extremely kind and informative. Lake Apopka Park is directly across the street and just south of that there is a driving trail that goes over 10 miles. Lake Apopka Park has a boat ramp so this is an excellent place for somebody who wants to Boat, fish, bird watch, picnic or just take a stroll. While we were there we also checked out the group camping site which is extremely private and well-appointed. This place would be an excellent location for large parties weddings Etc. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience we will be back with our pets and kids.

Campgrounds were nice, clean and had a lot of space between each other, some more than others. There are less than 20 lots in the campgrounds and it was full the night we stayed. It was super quiet even though we were right next to the rest area. Lots families here which was nice to see. My kids loved all the playgrounds, 4 in all and each one had different things to do. Each lot has 30 and 50 electric plugs in it as well as two places to plug in hoses. There was even a plug to plug in a extension cord for outside stuff too. There is a dump station as you exit the site. It was clean and well kept. The restrooms were clean and everything was well lit at night. For it being full, it was very quiet at night and we felt safe the entire time. We saw the park rangers multiple times cleaning up, maintaining the area and driving around watching over the park. You can bring your dogs too as long as you have proof of vaccinations. Lots of peacocks in the park and some had babies. We will definitely be back for a longer visit.

We absolutely loved this campground! We got there before they closed the gates so we were able to meet the office staff and get some information on the springs before settling in to our camp. Our camp was more than spacious, had running water and an electrical outlet. The bathrooms/showers were clean and pristine and for a germaphobe like me, clean bathroom without smell is imperative to me. I felt comfortable taking a shower in the bathroom and the hot water didn't run out. The only warning would be: the mosquitoes. Bring a mesh tent or cover to ensure a peaceful evening otherwise the fly sized mosquitos will literally attack you. All in all, we can't wait to camp here again!

There are more pros than cons but the few cons were enough to discourage us from returning.

Pros: Great staff, beautifully maintained grounds, clean bathrooms and showers, extremely friendly campers, very quiet and definitely not a “party” campground, very inexpensive, stores close by, beautiful Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive just minutes away.

Cons: We were one of very few tent campers and the sites are small with little options on where to set up. There is a constant drone of traffic noise, 24 hours a day that becomes unpleasant. My wife decided to make the short walk to the bathroom without waking me at 3:00AM. I woke to her returning to the tent in a panic. When she left the bathroom there was an individual dressed in all black crouched alongside the bathroom trail rifling through a backpack. This individual did not threaten her but she said it was very unnerving. This person did not appear to be a person staying in the park, and appeared to be homeless.

All in all this was not a bad place but there are other campgrounds that suit us...
