The location is easily accessible. The cabins looked cozy and worth the $85.I was looking forward to spending a weekend in one. The manager was a waste of whoever owns this places money. She was rude, unprofessional to say the least, and not very bright. I live in eureka and don't need a place to stay and I can shower whenever I want. I have a friend who's lease was up and she has been sick the last 3 weeks. Neither of us is homeless or jobless. We are both well dressed and polite. My friend called to see if she could pay to shower there and was told to put $10 into a envelope and given a code. I was there. I paid for it. There is to many people living at my place for her to shower there. I figured it would be best for everyone if she paid to use the shower. I took her there yesterday and today after work. It looked to me that everything happened the way the Koa was set up to do. She put the $10, showered and we left. After we pressure washed a house today I took her back to use the shower. I am rebuilding a 1977 toyota Chinook camper and thought it would be fun to rent a spot for a couple nights and camped. I thought when we were close to finishing the house we are painting we would get a cabin for 2 nights. My friend called and we were told $46 for the night and we were told to pick a site and fill out the form and put that and the $46 in the envelope. We drove to pick.one.The Gravel roads were full of potacos and poorly maintained. The camp sites were grown over with grass and poorly light. It was just getting dark and it all looked like mud and grass. Only 3 rvs staying there. The manager on site who just told us what to do stopped us and asked us what we were doing. Then said she saw her drive through a patch of grass which would be a $260 fine if she saw her do it again. There patches of grass in the road and it didn't look to me she went off road. I thought that was rude and not welcoming. We picked our spot and drove back to the office to put everything in the envelope and she was going to shower as I went and got dinner but when we parked the manager came rushing out asking what we were doing. Which blew me away as we were doing exactly what she told us to minutes ago. She then said that she didn't have any envelope for bonnie or Erik. Again I was dumbfounded. Told us we could not park in one of many parking spots at the office she just told us to do just that. She said we had to leave and the police would becalled. She said we stayed there last night without paying and the security guard saw us. We definitely did not stay there and she should know that because she lives there in a rv and the place is empty. She said they don't allow people to shower for money and she was changing the codes. She said there was no envelope for bonnie with $46 for the night before.Bonnie said there was a envelope with 2 $5 bills. Which this lady had in her hand and paused before saying we don't do that. I asked her if you didn't do that how did my friend get the code and put $10 in the envelope. Her reply was she didn't know. I have known some people who were not very smart but I watched all this happen and this lady was mad and throwing us out for doing what she just told us to. We are very polite and well spoken. I was shocked at how this woman acted and saw absolutely no reason for her to do any of this. I don't generally write reviews good or bad but and I don't need my $10 back or any compensation. I believe that this manager is far from having enough knowledge or skills to manage a ant farm. I think she will make people's stay unpleasant and lose the...
Read moreI have visited Eureka over a dozen times and this October was my first time to stay at this place. I have stayed in other RV parks, motels and even camped it in the area. I would definitely return. Here is what I liked about this place. They are only 5 minutes from downtown Eureka. The drive into town is so pleasant along the bay and you will be sad it didn't last longer after driving through all the mountains to get here.
The park is easy to find and right off of the freeway. Since the freeway speed limit is 50 mph you don't have that loud woosh noise all day and night like some parks close to freeways. It is also tucked behind another business that blocks the noise.
You actually have a view of the bay/ocean making the sunsets amazing. You can easily take a kayak across the highway and drop it in the bay.
I felt really safe here unlike staying in downtown Eureka where it is super sketchy most places even if the motel is nice.
I usually have my RV but this time I stayed in a cabin for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and neat the cabin was. It came with towels and all the bedding made up. The heater at night kept me plenty warm. No bugs or dirt inside. It has a deadbolt to keep you safe.
The staff was very nice. The park staff smiled and said hello when we would walk by each other.
The store has beer from local craft breweries of which there are many in this area sitting in the cooler. There is enough supplies to tidy you over until you need to go a regular size grocery store.
The entire park is on flat ground so no need to worry about being level if you are RVing it. Each site is spacious and clean
The cabins are nice because with your car parked only a few feet away, makes luggage and pets and kids an easy transition or just leave it in the car and get it if you really need it, kids included. They have swings on the front porch of which I found delightful at sunset. The price of a cabin is less than a motel room in town.
This place has a clean and well maintained playground and pool. and hot tub. They also have mini golf and giant chess board.
The bathrooms were clean and cleaned regularly. I didn't go during when it was busy so maybe two showers in the front bathroom might get busy with more guests or a full park. There is a dog park and laundry as well.
The tent sites are along the circumference of the property and they are all level with grass and fire pits. Plenty of room and they are divided by bushes.
They have a dump station.
You can shower and dump for a fee if you are not camping there. If you are a guest dump and showers are included. The bathrooms and showers have codes on them.
This place is far enough from town that the riff raff don't come close like many places but you are still close to town.
To make it 5 stars would be putting slabs down in the RV spots and resurfacing the roads within. There is nothing wrong with them but they are not as polished looking as the entrance is.
If I were traveling from the south I would stop at the Redwood parks before I got here. It is a decent drive to get to them from here. Enjoy the ocean once you get here and redwoods before.
Hope...
Read moreI had planned a trip to Fern Canyon with my daughter, and I was determined to keep her from getting sick after hiking in cold water. So, on May 27, 2025, I made a reservation for August 30-31, two days to stay warm in the cabin after the hike.
I paid downpayment, $112.64 for the reservation and received a confirmation email. As the date approached, I received reminders from Campspot about my reservation, and everything seemed to be in order.
On August 30, I woke up my daughter early and started driving to the campsite. After about three hours of driving at 11:16 am, I received a phone call from Redwood Coast Cabins confirming my arrival. I informed them that I was in Santa Rosa and on my way. I was only a few minutes away from the campsite at 3:51 pm when I received another call. This time, I was informed that my cabin reservation had been canceled.
I was shocked and went to the office to inquire about the cancellation. Two girls were sitting there. The dark-haired girl was quiet, while the light-haired girl informed me that someone else had arrived before me and had taken my spot. I explained that we had earlier confirmed my arrival, had reservations, and had paid the down payment, but she denied it.
As I began to search for proof, I received an email stating that the reservation had been canceled. I asked for the manager, but she said that he was taking a two-hour lunch break and would be shopping after.
She also offered me a tent and a free day’s stay.
Disappointed, I got back in my car and started searching for another place to stay. After a few minutes, I realized that it would be difficult to find a place to stay months ago, so it would be even harder now.
I returned to the office and apologized for my outburst. I accepted the tent offer.
She gave me the tent and said that I could stay in any RV spot or campsite. She also said that I was okay or not bad, but I don’t recall her exact words. She mentioned that she had previously called the police on people, which made me feel better because I had my daughter with me and wanted to be a good example for her.
I left the office, set up the tent, went to buy an airbed and some camping gear, and tried to make the best of the trip. On the day I was returning home while packing, someone approached me and asked if I knew I had taken his spot. He explained that he had to drive back home because of this. I apologized and told him the story. He asked if I would come back.
Well, I’ve been traveling and camping extensively for many years, all over the world. This is the first time someone has canceled my reservation. And considering the down payment, the confirmation over the internet and phone, and the fact that I wasn’t the first person to experience this issue, I was shocked. To make matters worse, I didn’t receive any reimbursement, so I ended up paying $112 for two nights of camping.
I’m always open to reading reviews, but I think it’s crucial to read them carefully in this case. I believe they are accurate. Additionally, I recommend conducting some research...
