A group of us "old girl cousins" spent the weekend of August 6, 7 and 8 in Ashley. Our "planner cousin" (thanks Beth!) booked us the first and third floor of the Ashley Lodge. I was so glad she did! The lodge was, for a very long time, a creamery. Now it's a very unique and beautiful lodge. Firstly the price couldn't be beat, even though the annual rodeo was also going on that weekend. When we arrived we were met by our very gracious lodge tour guide Jim, who made us all feel welcome while he showed us around our place for the weekend. The decor is really interesting. There's enough old brick and woodwork (along with many antique furnishings and decorations) to make you remember the building has history; the fridge, microwave, big screen TV and Wi-Fi made things comfortable. The beds were clean and very easy to sleep in. The old brick building is quiet as well. Every room was air conditioned to perfection in spite of the hot HOT days. Two restaurants within walking distance as well as a grocery store, bottle shop and two bars. We loved it so much we're making it a annual event! The only thing that could be construed as a problem is that it's not handicapped accessible. Even the step up into the building has a potential for being gnarly if there are any issues with mobility. Otherwise it's probably one of the best places to stay in the state!...
Read moreWe travelled from west to east cost this summer and stayed one night in Ashley. Wish we could have stayed longer. Daniel and his family have done such an amazing job turning this old historic creamery building into a quirky and comfortable "hotel". My parents had the entire third floor (huge with high ceilings), my 4 kids and I had the entire first floor with three bedrooms and built-in bunk beds for all the kids. Such a wonderful old building! The town is small and adorable. One bank, one grocery store. Like stepping back in time and slowing down life. Everyone knew everyone and the residents greeted each other by name. I loved the town and would like to go back again. We checked in very late and Daniel's wife and daughter walked over in the dark to let us in. Wonderful hosts! Unfortunately, I didn't have computer access to give them a review on AirBnb before the review-time expired, but I wanted everyone to know how amazing this place is. You should definitely go out of your way to stay here instead of a basic hotel. It is not just a place to sleep, it is...
Read moreWe the Beck’s have stayed here several times, my husband has stayed at his properties of and on for six months and his company has stayed there as well with additional employees. He is very open for scheduling and very flexible, to fit whatever needs you have. He was quick to answer any questions about the property, or if we needed anything during our stay. He had every answer to any question about the stay and local areas, including outdoor activities. It is very beautiful and unique well kept and clean. He answers you quickly and if you’re an outdoorsman he has all the answers and amenities. It’s located in a beautiful small town with many opportunities for hunting and fishing and enjoying wildlife. Parking for boats and vehicles is accessible anywhere. There is a fish cleaning station which is amazing to be able to utilize as well. If you forget your knife, fishing pole or propane he has everything . I would recommend any of the Airbnb’s owned by Dan. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your little...
