I am writing on behalf of myself (a bride) and my husband. We had our wedding at Stone Lion on 10/12/2019. I won’t go into major detail here but to get to the main point of what made my wedding weekend extremely stressful for myself as a bride, my husband, and my family. The unexpected MN weather forecasted the weather the weekend of the wedding to be frigid, snow/sleet mix, and strong winds. Lows into the 30’s. I addressed my concern for the 5,000 square foot tent only having one heater the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding and was reassured numerous times that the 175,00 BTU heater would have absolutely no issues keeping the tent at a comfortable level for our guests. I was also asked to pay for the propane for the rehearsal dinner, which I had no problems doing so as it was generous for them to allow us to have the grooms dinner there. To my despair the tent was 40 degrees and absolutely uncomfortably freezing temperatures the night before the wedding, which made myself, already a stressed out bride, extremely stressed and worried that the tent would be very uncomfortable on my wedding day. I tried to stay positive as this was a day I had been looking forward to for my entire life. I was reassured by the venue owners that the tent would be warm as they were going to go get more heaters ASAP in the morning. Around 2 PM there were still no heaters and the one heater had run out of propane. The wedding was at 4 PM. I had vendors inside the freezing cold tent setting up and THANKFULLY my Dad went and spent his own money buying another propane tank for their one heater. My aunt and uncle also brought in several heaters at this time to blast the heat inside the tent so it was at a comfortable level for the guests. If it weren’t for my family going out of their way for us, we would have had a miserable wedding. Yes, the owners did eventually get two more heaters inside the tent but this was all after the fact. The extra heaters also caused some issues with the electricity inside the tent and right before I was supposed to walk down the aisle the owners were desperately trying to get the breaker to stop causing the electricity to turn off. This entire situation impacted my overall experience as it was something I was having some major anxiety over as well as my family. A bride should not have to worry about anything like this on her wedding day. A bride’s family should not have to go out of their way to take care of things that should have been proactively taken care of by the owners. Everything eventually turned out perfectly and I am very happy for that. Although, the morning after the wedding when my husband and I were getting ready to leave, we headed downstairs with both of the owners waiting for us who told us we needed to sit down with them and talk about something important. First of all this made for one of the most uncomfortable situations I’ve ever been in and was not something I expected to happen. Someone wrote a review regarding what I am explaining on their page and they had printed out two copies and made my husband and I sit down and read the review. First of all, I did not know that any of this had happened and it made for me to feel like I was being cornered and truly not a professional business move on the owners end. It made my husband and I truly uncomfortable. Overall I would not recommend anyone to choose this venue for their wedding location. I also was truly disappointed the way the owners reacted to a review that people have the right to make. Especially when we told them that we were in a hurry as we were trying to get things cleaned up and get to the airport for our flight. As I am writing this I am feeling sick to my stomach over it all. Again, it ended up being a perfect and gorgeous wedding, but the unprofessional way the owners handled things leading up to and after really put a sour taste...
Read moreI highly Recommend Stone lion Winery Bed and Breakfast! My husband and I just had our wedding there on August 29th, 2020. We were very fortunate to drive by this venue the week we found out our original venue (Majestic Oaks) would not be able to accommodate the amount of guests we wanted due to Covid restrictions. My husband and I were determined to still get married on our date but we needed to quickly find an alternative! Luckily, we drove by Stone lion Winery. We set up a tour- fell in love with the beautiful setting and tent but we were officially sold when we met the owners Dave and Kathy. They were so kind and ready to answer all of our questions all the way up to the Big day and beyond! The bonus was the bed and breakfast which was very well kept, very nice, and breakfast was delicious both mornings I stayed there. Our wedding ended up even better at Stone lion than I think the original plan would have been. We are so grateful for the spacious, beautiful tent for the reception, the outdoor ceremony in front of the vineyard, and the owners who made planning and coordinating as stress free as it could be. We were in good hands. Thank you Dave and Kathy for an amazing wedding! I plan to attend future events here as well 😊 Love Cory and...
Read moreMy husband and I just had our wedding at Stone Lion Vineyard B&B and could not have been more pleased. Everything on the property was absolutely stunning, from the vineyards, to the tent and the B&B. It took our breath away! The owners, Dave and Kathy, went above and beyond taking care of us. Not only are they extremely kind and genuine people, but their hospitality is superb. They did everything in their power to ensure our day was as stress free as possible. Their attention to detail is immaculate! Our stay in the Itaska Suite was lovely. Upon returning to our room for the evening we found a bottle of wine on ice, along with meat, cheese and crackers. What a wonderful surprise! The following morning Kathy served us a delicious breakfast of our choosing, complete with fresh fruit and juice. I had Kathy’s famous Apple french toast, which I loved! We are extremely grateful to have stumbled upon this hidden gem! Whether your looking to host a wedding, event, or simply get away for the weekend, Stone Lion Vineyard B&B could not come more highly recommended. Thank you Dave and Kathy for providing us with such an unforgettable experience. We look forward to staying again with you in the...
