My friend had done a last minute booking for a weekend. One thing that we were going to be doing was the mammoth March and we needed somewhere to stay. It was the closest thing that he could get his hands on in relation to where the Mammoth March was going to be held. So after reading through many many reviews before my weekend trip, I was very scared to stay here. I had brought Lysol wipes, bug spray and gloves. We got there and he checked in. I guess there had been some sign apologizing for dust due to remodeling. We drove around to our room and parked. First thing we did was walk in and examine the entire room. We made sure that everything worked and that there was no bugs and we checked for anything that could have been dirty or broken. We were very happy to see that we were lucky enough to get to stay in a room that was the opposite of what everybody was writing about in their reviews. I'm not quite going to give it a five star, but saying that it is a four-star and that we liked it is sufficient enough. The fridge and microwave were clean. The beds were not on 2x4 pieces of wood. There was no bugs crawling around. There was no burn marks in any of the linens. The surfaces were all clean. There was no dirty underwear. The toilet, shower, and drain all worked. Two of us were able to shower both nights. The hair dryer was still there, it was not missing. The landscape artwork on the three panels was gorgeous. The beds were a little hard to sleep on. I wish they were a bit more comfortable seeing as we just completed a 20 mile hike. And when people complain about there not being much for breakfast, that might be a little bit of a letdown for some. But you also have to think that they are a smaller business and when we were there there wasn't any more than four cars there. So a lot of people must not come through there, so it would be hard to keep a constant full breakfast bar.
Some things that I did notice was that... the AC panel cover was on the floor when we came in -there was scratches all over the floor from people being a little too rough with the table and bed the insides of the dresser were disgusting and we did not use it. We kept our clothes in our suitcases -that the towel rack above the toilet was bent -the toilet seat was a bit wobbly so we had to be careful the shower head was coming out of the wall The bathroom fan seemed a bit loose and dirty The door frame seemed kind of iffy like someone slammed the door too much or pushed on the...
Read moreREAD THE REVIEWS - NOT RECOMMENDED First, I want to start by saying that I am an experienced traveler (across the US and Internationally) with no qualms about staying at budget motels. This was by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in my entire life. I traveled to the area and thought this would be a good place to rest my head. I was mistaken. Upon arrival my only request was for a reasonably quiet, non-smoking room. I entered the first room and as I opened the door the room was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke and fresh plaster. There was a very large area of spilled paint splattered on the laminate floor and fresh plaster on the walls. Cigarette burns scattered on the floor and a large what appeared to be wet stain in the middle of one of the beds. I called the front desk to request a non-smoking room. They apologized and then moved me to a new room. I was exhausted from travel, and was glad to be in a new room that smelled ok. I turned on the tv and it didn't work/no signal and I could not fix. The bathroom light did not come on. I decided to just overlook these items and take a shower. I turned on the water and pulled up the lever and the faucet went flying across the room/water coming out like a fire hydrant. I could not believe my eyes. I called the front desk and the man came to the room. He fiddled with the tv and tried smacking the light. He then put the faucet back on and tried turning the water on again - the faucet went flying across the bathroom again. He asked me to wait in the reception area while he found me a new room/checked it first. The third room was a bit cleaner but overall the rooms are in extremely poor condition. For example, in the better room the desk chair was covered in stains and when I took a shower the bath faucet wouldn't work (only shower) and there was a good 2 inches of missing wall all around showerhead. The entire place looked dilapidated and equivalent to some hotels in 3rd world countries. I spent the evening with people congregated outside my door and noticed that the police patrolled the parking lot. "Breakast included" so I stopped by reception and asked about breakfast. They pointed to a pot of coffee, dry creamer packets, and a small basket with 8 Walmart Great Value granola bars (valued at 16cents each). I have stayed at Days Inn before - because of this experience I don't think I can ever stay in one again and will question other hotels under the brand. Overpriced and...
Read moreI have never had a worse experience at a hotel in my 32 years of living. I advise everyone to stay somewhere else and spend the extra money. I drove from Brunswick, Georgia with my dog, we were in the car for nearly 12 hours and just wanted a place to rest our heads. We got checked into room 113, I unlocked the door and put my dog inside, shut the door to get our bags and then the key wouldn’t open the door again. The front desk came down to help and none of their keys were working either. I had to call the police to get into the room to get my dog. The police stuck a knife all up inside the locking mechanism and about 20 mins later the door opened with the key card. The manager came from his house and tells me “well the cops got in with the card so there’s nothing wrong” I told him it was probably because he jimmied something lose. I couldn’t leave my room the rest of the night for fear of being locked out again. The next day, when I checked out, I was in my car getting everything ready and I watched the house keeper try to get into the room and she was not able to. Exactly what I told the manager... the lock is broken! Needless to say, he told me he would give me a discount but my debit card was charged for the full price. I also forgot my pillow in their hotel room and the least they could do is ship it to me because of everything that had happened.. he won’t. STAY FAR AWAY from this place!!!! I would do no stars but you have to at least click...
