My first recommendation is to tell you to read all the previous reviews. I was planning to sit down and write an outstanding review about River Oaks Courts in Medina Texas, so I thought before I did, I would see what previous guests had to say. Will looks like everyone beat me to it. We stayed six nights and to be honest we hated to check out. What a great place. Itβs a few short miles from so many of the larger Hill Country destinations. If you and your family want to experience real Texas Hill Country living, I highly recommend River Oaks Courts. The property is clean, well maintained and remarkable in a real Texas Hill Country way. The staff, and I mean everyone are the best, they go out of their way to make you comfortable. The property is right next to the tree lined Medina River. Thers a large well-maintained garden with walking paths and seating. Iβve never seen a flock of hummingbirds until my stay there. I enjoyed sitting on the patio of my cabin, enjoying coffee while looking at miles of pure Texas Hill Country. Their Social Club offered live music and wonderful food and drink. Also, a great coffee shop called the Art House CafΓ©. There are only eleven units so no big crowds, no noise, a great place to relax, but close to all the best spots the Hill Country...
Β Β Β Read moreWe had a fantastic visit over Memorial Day weekend at River Oaks Courts. Not only were the cottages and the grounds extremely well maintained, but the attention-to-detail to create a special experience for guests was super evident. Locally roasted coffee and locally made soaps in the rooms; exquisite native landscaping throughout the grounds; authentic period decor, fixtures and even reading material in the cottages - including a 1940s issue of Frontier Times in ours, which was a fascinating read. The coffee shop is amazing for breakfasts, and the cafe/patio was a memorable night with great live music, food and cold beer. Worth mentioning: there is walkable access to the Medina River on the property (something I'd wondered about before booking), however the water level is very low. Nonetheless, it was fun to walk down at twilight to wade in the water and watch the fireflies. This place is a full experience, not just another place to stay. And an incredible value for what you get: lodging, food, beverages. We stayed in Cottage #1 as a family of four with two young kids and we all had one of the best getaways in a long, long time. Highly...
Β Β Β Read moreSo, this place just opened and they're still experiencing some growing pains but what a cool place it is. I'll honestly list some pros and cons as this is in no way a traditional hotel. Pros; Cool and unique idea, super friendly and helpful staff, restaurant and bar on site, free entertainment at night, pet friendly, clean, great place to get away from the grind of day to day in a beautiful setting (not sure if they have wifi 'cause I didn't see anything in the room that said they did), plenty of free bottles of water in the mini fridge. Things that could be improved; No place (and I mean no place) to hang your clothes on hangers (this room screams for an armoire and there's a perfect place to put one), no TV, no publicly available ice, kinda' pricey. I hope they can smooth out the rough edges because I'd sure like to see this...
