Let's talk about the Ranger Inn. The rooms are filthy and they're falling apart. Black mold can be found in the bathrooms and possibly under the carpeting. Speaking of the carpets, they are so dirty in places as to be sticky with accumulated filth. The ceilings are home to cob webs, and a fan with so much built up dust on the blades, that I was afraid to turn it on. The location is rediculous. About as far away in the opposite direction from anything you're probably going to be doing in Bangor that you'd be better staying at an actual hotel. To be fair, many of the real hotels in Bangor are in the same distant corner of that city. Most of The Ranger Inn's "guests" are long-term residents. These individuals are not the sort of person you'd want as a neighbor. The Ranger accepts them because they're a steady source of guaranteed income: the city of Bangor foots the bill in the form of vouchers. Read moreI see some older reviews that are pretty misleading. I say that because most all are from a different owner/mgr. Ranger Inn has a new manager(Keith) that has removed the bad elements/people! He is always available on site to work out any issues. Keith has not only made this place a safe and quiet place to stay but is overseeing renovations and installation of security equipment, example: camera's in all common areas and sidewalks. So if you're looking for a place for a week or a year the Ranger Inn is now safe and affordable! Most of the time there's a waiting list so do not hesitate to give...
