I come to this hotel yearly for work trips as it’s the recommended hotel for my company. This time it was the worst experience I’ve had in a long time at any hotel.
After I checked out of this hotel with Anne at the front desk I immediately went outside and sat on the bench waiting for my Uber to come, two police officers approached me out of nowhere with another Hispanic male they pulled out of the hotel and sat him next to me. They then say “why were you asked to leave? Where are you two planning on going? Are yall leaving together?” I responded absolutely confused letting the officer know I have 0 clue what he’s talking about. The officer responds sarcastically “don’t play stupid with us we know you know each other. The owner of this hotel just pointed you out saying that you both checked in together and it’s on tape”. I asked to see this so called tape as I know I checked in alone and can provide whatever proof needed to show when I checked in/out and what room I was in. The officer then says “so you’re saying the owner is lying and you don’t know this man? You’re saying it’s not you on the tape? You expect us to believe you over the owner of this hotel?” I again asked to see the tape and talk to the owner but hilariously the officer stays he hasn’t seen the tape and I cannot go back in. After sitting there for 30 minutes and being ignored they moved the other Hispanic male to the opposite side of the entrance and stopped talking to me. After awkwardly sitting there with two officers standing on the road watching me and laughing amongst themselves. I finally got tired of it and they let me leave while not providing me any information after I asked and just laughed it off while telling me they don’t care and to just go.
I called my wife extremely angry that this happened to me and it’s funny her review was met by “the owner” saying it didn’t happen here. I visit this hotel yearly and a lot of my organization employees stay here for work conferences and I have already moved forward with filing a complaint with my HR department. It’s ridiculous that simply because I’m hispanic I MUST be the guy that checked in with the other Hispanic guy that “caused them issues”. What makes me most angry is after whatever conversation was had when the police went back in and I assume realized it wasn’t me you would think “the owner” who the police referred to over and over again would have came out to apologize to me. But nothing, either way I won’t be coming here again and I’ll make sure I get this recommended hotel off of my...
Read moreThis place is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! From the looks of the hotel, to the staff behind the desk. I should have turned around the second we walked in. But because this hotel has been a family favorite for nearly 20yrs, we checked in. Check in is 3pm, and while walking up to our room at 4:30pm, we were surprising the maid. The room wasn’t even ready. She was very nice and welcomed us in, saying she only needs to vacuum. She vacuumed, and then started spraying and wiping counters, tables, the microwave all while my 3 children stood there holding their noses from the spray. As annoying as the day was, the kids wanted to go swim. We head down to the pool, in the DISGUSTING dirty elevator, to see the hot tub is down. We asked for how long since it wasn’t roped off, front desk said consider it dead. The pool water was too cold for me and my 1yr old so we sat out and watched the others. All the sudden water drips from the ceiling, we look up and it’s COVERED IN BLACK MOLD. Needless to say we left the pool area and had decided not to swim the remainder of the time. After supper we were putting the kids to sleep and all you heard was running and jumping. Young kids riding up/down the elevator. No parents around, and no one at the desk to even complain to. And don’t try calling, cuz they don’t pick up. This morning during breakfast we got a Bank notification. I was not only charged TWICE for the room, I was charged TWO DIFFERENT AMOUNTS!!! When we asked the lady behind the desk what happened, she said she had no idea. We asked her to reverse the charge, she said no. We asked for a manger, she said there wasn’t one here. We asked when they would be in, she said she didn’t know. At this point my husband is very angry and said can I have a name and contact information, to witch the lady crossed her arms and said, if they had any cards; they would be in the side table. Of course there were none, and she then said, we’ll I don’t know what to tell you. We left the hotel, and we’re sad to say after nearly 20yrs we will never come back. Walking out to the car we watched a couple clean there car outside and throw garbage in the already dirty lot, as well as another women throwing garbage out a window with no screen. I have put my complaint out with corporate. And we will be calling the hotel every single day until I speak to a manager, and get my money back. The only reason I’m even leaving a star, is so I can tell people...
Read moreChecked in, Room 130, at front desk (female clerk)(Deerfield) approx 4:30 PM, Thurs., June 19, 2025. (First stay at a La Quinta.) Room charge on June 19, 2025 appears as $163.84 on my credit card.
I went straight from lobby to dinner and Ravinia performance. Did NOT go to room until approx 11 PM after concert. My female friend helped me get luggage from car to room. She was NOT a guest. We got to room, opened door, turned on dim wall light to find either a PERSON in bed or LUMP OF UNMADE BED at opposite end of room!! Very frightening! We both felt UNSAFE! Closed door. My witness friend went to wait in car. I went to front desk. Told, Wanatta, desk clerk. Asked for Manager, Bob P. (posted). Not in until morning. Asked note to be left for my requesting meeting with him.
Wanatta, female night clerk, then, closed front desk and went with me to check on problem Room 130. She opened door, turned on wall switch. Said ROOM HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. Had me come back to front desk.
She issued me room next door to first room. I had her take me to second room, Room 132. Room was clean, but MUSTY and noisy from Expressway traffic. I had her turn on air conditioner. UNRESTFUL night.
Next morning, I found Bob P., manager at front desk. I asked to speak with him. He was aware of situation. I asked for COMPENSATION. He offered only $25 being removed from my credit card charge since they did provide me with another room. Actual CREDIT on June 20, 2025, was $24.42 appeared on my credit card. I stated that was NOT SATISFACTORY. I would contact CORPORATE Wyndham and post my negative experience on social media. His response, "Corporate can help you."
My FIRST and LAST stay at a Wyndham chain property!
