My husband and I made plans for a summer trip to Maine. We paid in advance and reserved a room for two nights at Gallagher's Travels Bar Harbor Motel and Cottages. We arrived and checked in at the front office. We were told that Room 11 was assigned to us for our stay from July 16 through July 18, 2023. We entered the room and the chemical smell was overwhelming. I was so nauseous and felt like vomiting. My eyes started watering and my contacts started bothering me and became uncomfortable. I left the room and my husband and I returned to the front office. The staff person followed us back to the room and admitted that the smell was strong. He suggested that Room 14 was available and we checked out that room. Oh, my goodness - the smell of mold was so strong and the office staff person admitted that he could discern mold and mildew in the room. He told us that he would call the owner.

We could not stay in either room. I have allergies and asthma as well as chemical sensitivity to strong odors. We left and were looking for alternative accommodations when the owner called us. The owner was not empathic and charged us for the first night despite my health concerns and my inability to stay in...

Our stay at Gallagher’s in Bar Harbor was amazing and 5min from Acadia National Park. We decided we wanted to come in a night early and they only had a king room. They set my daughter up with a rollaway bed (that was actually comfortable) but they didn’t just toss it in our room for us to make. It was completely made up when we got back from exploring. They tried to keep us in that room but couldn’t do the next day July 4th while we where downtown enjoying ourself April called and said we had to move room but that we could continue our day and they would move everything to the new room. When we got back that evening they had moved everything from the old room to the new one and placed in the exact place that we had it. I would recommend Gallagher’s to anyone and hope to visit them again in the future. Hopefully on our next trip we will get to try out the cabins. Thank you April and Sean for making our stay in Bar...

Motel is close to Acadia NP, less than 5 minutes drive. Pets designated motel rooms are usually #1-7. Site is safe. Room is clean but furnishing is not modern like what you can expect in Hyatt Place or any Marriott chain hotels. We were in motel room #14 for 2N stay. Our shower is missing a shower head, hence the spray is not the best for a good shower. Toiletries are acceptable, without tissue box. They no longer provide the good smelling blueberry muffins in the morning. Guests should park their vehicles at Acadia Hulls Cove visitor center parking then ride the free shuttle explorer to downtown Bar Harbor. Parking at Bar Harbor is a whopping $4/hour. Free shuttle explorer runs every 30mins between green village in Bar Harbor and Acadia Hulls Cove Visitor Center parking lot. Access to Hulls Cove Ctr parking lot is open 24/7. Lots of shopping and restaurants in Green Village/Water Front in...

Recently attempted to stay in one of the cabins, but I had to cut our stay short and vacate to a hotel instead. Overall, my experience was horrible at this place. The inside of the cabin had a moldy/mildew smell, the shower had a broken ledge with mold growing in it and there appeared to be mold in the shower joints, and the bedding looked dingy. I’ve seen pre-built Home Depot sheds with better structural stability than these cabins. Additionally, a skunk sprayed the outside of the porch which caused an awful smell to linger in the room for the majority of our one night stay (and we were forced to stay the one night because everything else in the area was sold out). We attempted to discuss the issues with the management, but that was ultimately a waste of time. I’d take your money elsewhere, as these cabins were a glorified cardboard box with a shower and toilet.

We were 4 adults and one kid and our Stay was nice here and there are multiple reason for that- -Owner of the motel was very friendly, he let us in at 1 PM instead of regular check in time of 3 PM. He helped us to plan our visit. - We booked two bedroon cabin and it was neat and clean. Kitchen has full utensils and ready to use. Refrigerator was very helpful as it was hot outside and we got cold water. - it is very near to the park and visitor center was only 1 or 2 miles away. - Although we didnt need it but if room could have almira it would be great for othres having much luggage. But i am sure if requested owner would have arranged for it. Overall our stay was nice and we enjoyed our visit here.

This was a nice choice for staying a night in Bar Harbor. Seth at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin. This would be great for a family! Everything was very clean. Not a bug in sight, nice hot shower and we slept great. Close to a couple of other eateries without going all of the way in to downtown Bar Harbor. Cute cabins. Had a refrigerator and a microwave and window air conditioning. Parking right next to cabin. Table out on front patio for an evening drink and morning coffee.
