We’ve had an absolute wonderful stay at The Homestead. My husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary with a weekend away. We came in from Cincinnati (just about a 3 hour drive). It was a quiet weekend and we had the place to ourselves being just a couple weeks before Christmas. On entering we really weren’t sure what to expect. It was so cozy and everything was decorated for Christmas. I used the common area on the first night to curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace (an electric heater). It has a cozy farmhouse feel in the dining room and entry. But we were happy to see our room felt updated and modern. The bed was comfy and the bathroom had nice modern farmhouse feel.
We did a tour and tasting at the distillery. I am not a bourbon drinker, but my husband is. We both enjoyed the tour and learning about the history of the family. The 3 owners of the business were there and we got to meet them which was a highlight of the tour for us!
There are restaurants and things to do within a 20-30 minute drive. We did go back over to the tasting room for drinks after our anniversary dinner and enjoyed the live music.
We have plans to come back next year when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the fishing pond and the fire pit in the back and do more exploring at the national...
Read moreMy group of 8 had dinner at the new Summer Supper Series and then saw Sara Evans at the Amp. We were all blown away by the people working a full crowd on opening night. They were really great w a kind and generous spirit. The food was spectacular w large warmed plates, crystal cocktail glasses and long stemmed wine glasses. Incredible details on their first dinner! You have to go see what is being built in the heart of Nelson County. Bardstown, Gethsemanie and Dant Crossing are all compelling visits! I look forward to...
Read moreOur first visit at Dant Crossing was wonderful. The house is beautiful and the history of the house shown is a neat feature. We stayed two nights enjoying some distillery visits and great restaurants. We went to the Log Still which is on the grounds right down from the house. They just opened it up a week before we came. They have music on Friday nights. So many upcoming plans in the works. An amphitheater to open in July for live music. A restaurant and the distillery are coming in the...
