Our group just finished our 51st yearly conference at Craigville. There have been many changes over the years, especially when UCCR took over. We really hadn't been happy with the change for a variety of reasons but had not yet found a substitute. However, if every subsequent year is like this year, we are not going anywhere else. They have a new director and Matt is fantastic. He was so accommodating and helpful from jumpstarting a dead battery to taking our group photo to making sure we had all the AV equipment we had asked for even when we found out we needed something last minute.
The food was fantastic. I never have seconds but this year I did. We even had chocolate milk this year without hearing how we better drink it all as it was costing them so much money. Loved the way they now write what is on the steam table so you know what you are eating and the bussing set up works so much better. This is the first year I didn't hear one complaint about the food. Our food sensitivities were all accommodated with no problems. This is the first year that staff spoke to us and they were friendly and we very much appreciated all their hard work.

Everyone was able to access the internet without any problems and stay on as well. Little things that have made a huge difference.
Thank you Matt, thank you Staff and thank you UCCR for helping to make this year's...
Read moreThis place used to be ran so much better before it was sold a few years ago. I don't expect fine cuisine at a retreat center, but the food borders inedible. When it was under old management the food was decent and homey, homestyle kind of food that was hearty and simple. The rooms were clean and decently maintained back then. Now the rooms look to be falling apart, moisture and mold everywhere from leaks, there is mold in most of the rooms of the retreat center because many of the ladies were complaining about breathing issues, sore throats, headaches, they need to check for black mold. There was constant leaking in our bathroom that looked to go into the lower levels, shower was filthy and smelled like urine when we first checked in. For $240 for a weekend with meals included, you can't expect much, but I do think they could do a little better with cleaning , food, and keeping up to date with any repairs or renovations to the retreat center. I understand the owners have to budget, but unfortunately I believe it will be to their own demise, a lawsuit is waiting to happen here due to so many safety and...
