This hotel books up quickly. Make a reservation. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ms. Cynthia. She was lovely. The housekeepers too. Rick, the owner, was quick to respond to every request. The parking lot was very large and free. The pool was available all day. The pool is an asset because it was 90 degrees weather each day. This hotel is older and has two floors. (If you can carry your bags up two flights, reserve the second floor.) I reserved two rooms on the first floor. We could hear the people above us and they walked really hard all night. Each room was clean and large. THE BEST A/C. My room was like a refrigerator. It felt so good getting out of the heat. King size bed with three pillows. Housekeeping cleaned the room AND made the bed each day. Plenty of clean towels, soap and shampoo. Also provided an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Only one clothes hanger in my room, but my cousin's room had plenty of hangers. The hot water temperature for the shower was fantastic. There was a problem with my television and it was quickly fixed. Each room has a mini-refrigerator and a microwave. Breakfast is no longer provided. However, coffee and orange juice are available all day. The Huddle House is only one-minute away and doesn't close until late. Two complaints: (1) The toilet seats are too low; and (2) we were locked out before the 11am check-out. I wish that Travel sites gave this hotel more than two stars. This hotel deserves more stars. Don't forget to leave the Housekeepers a tip. They work so hard to upkeep your room and give you an enjoyable experience. We enjoyed our stay immensely. 24-Hour Laundromat is steps away. This is a GOOD, CLEAN and AFFORDABLE HOTEL. We look forward...
Read moreThis was the most horrible experience ever in life Bed bugsWoke up at 3:00 in the morning scratching my face found a bedbug as big as my pinky nail just sitting on my pillow. Went to the front desk long and short of it is they could care less as a matter of fact they made it look like I never stayed there at all on my booking site. So much so i had to come here to leave a review here instead of there ....... can you actually believe the hotel owner had the audacity for that response today's date is July 6th I stayed at that hotel on the 24th of June I was only in Barnwell for my grandmother's 90th birthday we wanted to surprise her to say that I stayed another day is sickening I left your hotel at 8:00 in the morning with my son and my granddaughter we ended up at a huddle house because it was the only thing open then we were at Walmart for a birthday card and God loved the universe guess who was there picking up a couple of things before her birthday started my grandma and grandpa so we had a place to go so when I tell you people we were at my grandma and grandpa's at 9:00 in the morning in Barnwell after a lovely visit since I hadn't been to sleep since 3:00 in the morning and also had to get cream from her for my face and my arm for which I sustained 10 yes people 10 bites and above my eye when I tell you I spent the next 3 days swollen because I am highly allergic I took Benadryl every 4 hours along with Excedrin Migraine when I say it was the most horrible experience ever I have no agenda but to warn people do not stay at this hotel and I won't remove anything Mr Hotel manager respond to that and Trust I will add more to this story because...
Read moreI was at the days inn in Barnwell because of a baseball tournament there. I stayed there purely because it was one of the only hotels in Barnwell. My room was clean and pretty average. The only complaint being the bathroom. It was super cramped and the toilet was low. The hotel does NOT have consistent room service. Not coming back to a made bed does not bother me. The fact that i have to ask for clean towels does. I mean how difficult is it to add a few towels to a room even if you don't clean it. The main problem was with the manager and the pool. As he more than likely knew there was a 6u baseball tournament. It is important for the enjoyment of everyone to have a pool to cool off in and have a good time, yet on the first night he tried to close it two hours early. He didn't because we brought up his sign. Just two days later he conveniently closed the pool because the "Ph levels were low." I cannot prove it, but I don't think he liked us being there. He constantly walked out side and watched us. It took a person asking for a free cancelation for the every baseball player there for the pool to be open. The final problem I have is with there business practice. I assume we pay for breakfast in the room fee, that they didnt have. The other issue was that different people were told different thing when canceling the last day. Some where even lied too. Overall, I would just stay in aitken the next time and just suck...
