I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at The Winton Inn & Suites, and it was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I entered the room, I was hit with a strong odor that can only be described as a combination of mildew and stale cigarettes. It was clear that the room had not been properly cleaned or aired out in quite some time. Even though I had to wait for the room to be cleaned after the stated check-in time. The first thing that caught my attention was the state of the floors; they were dirty and sticky, making me hesitant to walk barefoot. The bed linens were no better – they were musty and full of dog hair.

I am currently staying here and omg it is so dirty and it’s late I went and bought bleach to clean the bathroom, tv was not working floors are so dirty the lady that was in the office was annoyed, not to tell you we changed rooms already and it’s worse it smells so bad will be leaving in the AM we was supposed to stay for 3 weeks but no not me do not recommend

This is a gem of a place in Barnwell. The age of the building means you get spacious rooms that still have their original charm with updates. The grounds host a lovely brick courtyard area. The staff is very welcoming as well. Bonus-you have a wonderful restaurant called Eat Street on the property!

I chose this motel because the website photos showed room doors directly out to the parking lot. I use a cane to walk. He gives us a room as FAR away as possible from the parking lot in a courtyard corridor. Drove back to the office and "hiked" back in. Asked for a room directly opening to the parking lot. Was told they were all "smoking" rooms. Husband said that was OK. The desk clerk said we wouldn't want one because they were too cheap! Finally agreed to give us the first room in the courtyard corridor which was close to the car. Meanwhile, during all my trips to the office, he kept telling me I couldn't park in the handicapped space even though I have a permit Finally realized the spaces must have been for the restaurant. That's ALL he had to tell me! ||Tried for an hour to connect to the Internet with info desk clerk had given me.. Grew frustrated and went to dinner. Tried to use the room phone to call, but it was disconnected. Called office directly from my cell phone. Ten minutes later he showed up with new WiFi info, stating the other info was for the room I didn't want, implying it was MY fault for switching rooms.||Beds are very high. Had to stand on my suitcase to get in...

Had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. I do not even know where to begin with my review. We stayed here because we had been to the surrounding hotels and were not comfortable with staying in any of them. We should have just slept in our cars or found rooms in the next state over. The rooms are filthy. You can tell that the housekeeper does the absolute bare minimum when it comes to cleaning because we literally found something in every part of the room, like gummy bears stuck to the wall, hair in the tub, crud on the back of the toilet, dust all over the furniture, dirty floors and the list goes on. Needless to say, my family and I were ALL very uncomfortable and took it upon ourselves to clean up some in order to feel halfway comfortable. Oh, and please don't expect any special services such as clean laundry being brought to your room for the next day. We were told that we needed to bring the old towels down before we could get new ones. Complete nightmare. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere because this was a complete...

We had a family event and we all agreed to stay here. The hotel was clean and comfortable but nobody had any hot water. I managed to get some hot water and finally showered about noon. The next night, I had to get going and when there was no hot water, I had to do without. My brother-in-law complained about the hot water and was told that he was the only one so he must be imagining things. I think they have a very small water heater so if you just happen to be among the first in the morning, or if they are not busy, you do fine. If they are busy, plan on cold showers. Wifi worked, after I talked to the desk and tuned into the wifi for the restaurant, not the hotel. My nephew and I arrived at 12:15 in the morning and were told that if we had gotten there a bit later, they would have cancelled our reservation! I don't know how he signed up but I have never heard of...
