My husband and I got married at Magnolia Streamside Resort in 2022 and we had an absolutely magical time. If you want a wedding venue with a professional and caring staff where you can spend ample time with your loved ones in a beautiful space while eating delicious food, this is definitely the space for you.

Venue When you book at Magnolia, you’re booking out the entire venue for a weekend. This means you get a Friday night welcome dinner, a full day on Saturday (you can get ready there too!), and a Sunday brunch. Our friends all stayed at the cabins on-site, which meant they all got fairly affordable (and nice!) housing in a beautiful location, and everyone got to hang out with us the whole weekend. We even had a very low pressure afterparty with a bonfire, since our friends didn’t have to leave the venue when the reception ended. No “where should we go” or extra work to book out a separate bar for the afterparty, like you have at a traditional reception hall! We wanted as much time with our loved ones as possible, so this was key for us.
Weather permitting, you can have your ceremony basically in the middle of the stream on a little island. There were birds chirping and flying overhead during our ceremony, which we loved. You also get a very light background noise of the stream during the ceremony, which adds to the fairytale forest atmosphere. Note that if you tour in early spring, you might be alarmed by how loud the stream is, but this generally only happens after very heavy rain or after the major snow melt that the Poconos usually sees in March. It quieted down substantially by our August wedding. You can also get a sound system in and be mic’d up for the ceremony (we chose to do this anyway so that folks in the back row could hear without us having to shout).
The ceremony space has a standard “archway” that’s very charming, but the staff was kind enough to replace it with a four-post structure so that we could have a Jewish chuppah, so just know that that’s an option!
The reception patio was built after we booked (we were expecting just a normal tent) and we were shocked at how nice it was. We got married in late summer and it was so lovely to be in a sturdy, protected structure but still have the summer breeze coming in. There’s great overhead lighting and there’s some decor already in the space that adds to the woodsy atmosphere. The patio is also attached to the main building, so there are two very nice indoor bathrooms available for wedding guests (although over half of our guests were staying on site, so many just went to their cabins that were only a few steps away!)
Staff We ADORED working with Cheyenne (the venue’s onsite coordinator). She was one of the main reasons we booked with Magnolia over other venues in the area. She’s such a warm person and has extensive planning know-how. As someone who had never planned a wedding before, having Cheyenne around to offer advice and answer questions was such a godsend. There are so many things I wouldn’t have thought about if it wasn’t for her. She even talked to me about things that we’re totally not about the venue, like picking out perfume!
Cheyenne actually gave birth to her first little one a week or so before our actual wedding date, but she had the entire wedding planned in such detail with us that she was able to easily hand everything off to the owner (the lovely Inna!) and everything went off totally without a hitch. That said, Cheyenne even showed up for our rehearsal and our actual ceremony to our surprise and eternal gratitude. We felt so taken care of the entire time and I can’t say enough good things about her.
The rest of the staff at the venue was incredible as well. Everyone was so kind and we had a TON of fun with the bartenders over the course of...
Read moreI don't even know where to start! I stumbled upon Magnolia on google when looking for venues in the Poconos and I'm SO glad that I did. It was one of the first venues I looked at online and even after touring a few others - I knew Magnolia was the one before I even saw it in person. We wanted a venue where we could host each event of the weekend (Rehearsal, Ceremony, Reception, Brunch) to keep it as laid back as possible for us and our guests. Lodging (for about 60 ppl) and catering are both on-site which took a TON of stress off planning. (Extra bonus the food was absolutely delicious - highly recommend the wood-fired pizzas, prosciutto-wrapped grilled peach, and eggplant rollatini). It made everything SO easy having all of the events in one place — being able to stay on-site with so many of our friends and family was amazing. It was exactly how we envisioned our wedding weekend. We're also very outdoorsy and wanted to incorporate that into our wedding, so when we finally visited Magnolia in person and saw how beautiful it was (from the stream to the forest surrounding it to the cottages), we booked it the same day. It was also very affordable as far as a 3-day wedding event goes and our guests appreciated the low cost to stay for the whole weekend. I believe they have increased their prices since we booked though - as they should! Throughout our engagement, they ended up making several upgrades to the pavilion and grounds that made the venue even more beautiful on our actual wedding day.
Cheyenne - the coordinator - was beyond amazing from the start. She was so energetic, flexible and helpful throughout the entire planning process (from when we booked it in November 2020 to our wedding in June 2022). Even though she was coordinating multiple weddings, the attention she gave us made it feel like ours was the only one! We aren't from the area so she was also full of recommendations for local vendors, places to eat, things to do, etc. I really feel like she went above and beyond!! She kept the pressure of planning off me & my now husband and made sure that we were as relaxed as possible throughout planning but especially the weekend of the wedding. She was a godsend on the day-of, making sure we didn't feel pressured with timelines and giving us time for just the two of us after the ceremony with our own bottle of champagne so we could take a breath before the rest of the night. I didn't hire a florist but provided some bulk flowers and greenery from Costco that Cheyenne & her team turned into the most BEAUTIFUL centerpieces and altar decor. All the decor & signs that I had spent months DIYing, she placed around the site exactly as I had pictured (actually even better than I had pictured!). I didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day of the ceremony!
ALL of the staff at the venue were so friendly and accomodating - the front desk, the servers, the bartenders, the chef, everyone! I felt totally relaxed all weekend that even if something went wrong, it would be handled. Even after we checked out on Sunday, staff was there to help us when our friend got a flat tire. There were so many venues we spoke to with so many strict guidelines about timing, decor, alcohol, clean up etc. that I was stressed just talking to them - our experience at Magnolia was literally the opposite.
I know without a doubt that our wedding would not have been as perfect as it was if it wasn't at Magnolia and if Cheyenne wasn't our coordinator. It exceeded our vision of what we wanted for the weekend and our friends & family are still raving about it to us. It felt like a fairytale. Cannot...
Read moreOk, so to be completely honest I need to say that in my opinion this place was a bit expensive for just a 2 night stay. I paid close to $700 for Friday (check in after 4pm) to Sunday (checkout no later than 11am). I will say the grounds were absolutely beautiful, and if it weren't winter and so cold this would definitely be an awesome place to go outside and relax where you could enjoy the sounds of nature, view the creek, and just sit on your deck or somewhere else around their property if you chose to. But, where my disappointment came in was our room. The quality of the room and the products there and the experience we had staying in the room was a bit disappointing. So, we had a 2 bedroom place...not because we needed it but because it was the only one left that had a jacuzzi tub and that's what I wanted. It was my 3yr anniversary with my boyfriend so I wanted something that we could come back to relax in after our day out. So that being said, the jacuzzi room was close to double the price of the other room I could've picked that would have been our own separate cabin. That's where my next gripe comes in...we had a door that was locked down the hall from the second bedroom and bathroom. That door was the entry to the adjacent rental. I will keep this pg rated and just mention that after we got back Friday evening from dinner and took our shower we wanted to go to bed but the walls were so thin (and that door I mentioned must've been the neighbors bedroom) that we had to switch our bedroom to the other one because we couldn't sleep due to the "noises" and banging coming from the other side of the wall. Even after moving bedrooms we could still hear everything. I TOTALLY understand going on a weekend get away and I enjoy "activities" as well, however, I don't necessarily enjoy not being able to sleep because the room is so close like that and there is literally NO sound barrier. If I had a child that would truly have been a difficult situation to have had to explain with what we were hearing. Secondly, the toilet paper was so THIN, you could literally SEE THROUGH it, both bathrooms had soap dispensers that the pumps were broken and the shower was the worse shower head that I have ever used. I'm really not trying to complain about stupid things but I camp, A LOT, and I've been to campgrounds that their bathrooms have had better shower heads and soap dispensers. The table in the dining room was large but when I set my stuff on it it was so shaky I was afraid I was going to break the wood and be responsible for it. As I've said, this place was a beautiful place outside and around their property. They truly have an awesome location right on a creek and it's absolutely gorgeous and relaxing, but I just felt for the price I paid I expected a...
