The owners/front desk: The woman who greeted me was great. Friendly and professional. When I checked out she was even multi tasking-working on the grounds themselves, so I assume she was the new owner.
The property itself: is very nice, close to local attractions, and the new owners seem to be working to improve it. Had 2 little play structures-- I think one was a boat. The pool area looked well kept, clean, and water looked beautiful.
The room: OVERALL, it was OK. King bed with pull out sofa day bed and kitchenette. But the cleanliness needed improvement. And i am not talking about the housing itself, as I know it's an older place. Scratches on the wood coffee table, some lifting of the rubber baseboards off and away from the wall, and no screens in some of the windows I can deal with. Appliances were mixed. The kitchentte had a convection glass cook top that hasnt been properly cared for as it was covered in scratches and other cooking stains. Microwave is from the 80's and looks like it. But both worked and served the purpose. The mini fridge could have been wiped out better and the freezer defrosted-- as it had a funky smell to it. But again, worked well enough.
However. They must have done work in the room as there was either paint dust or sheet rock dust all over the closet shelf, as well as a bunch of tied off grocery bags and a broken clock covered is dust. The kitchen sink needed a wipe down, especially under the soap dish. The sponge was old and had paint dried and stuck to it. Dishes for us to use WERE clean and put away with a fresh dish towel left for our use. The bathroom had fresh towels and soaps. Paint flecked on the knob, and the cabinet had this weird streak of goo or petroleum jelly down it or something. Water stain and debris inside it. Shower had old caulk crumbling out and on to sides and the shampoo/soap dispenser had grime all over it. The bed was large and linens seemed fresh. The couch surface seemed fine but if you were looking to use as a day bed, it needed to be vacuumed out badly. Went to make coffee in the morning with provided maker and coffee-- opened it and saw how dirty it was and decided to go out for coffee instead.
We may have arrived before the new owners have finished fixing it up. I'm not sure. Either way, besides some.general cleanliness issues, we enjoyed our stay and certainly would give them the benefit of the doubt and stay again once the owners have had a chance to get it back...
Read moreWell.. I guess I'm not even sure where to start. I would tell you I had the best night ever away with my mom except for this hiccup called a hotel. My mom had stayed here previously never with a bad review so we opted to save 50 bucks and stay outside of North conway. Never again! And most definitely never at this hotel again. |As soon as we walked into the room (we were in 18) we could see and smell the uncleaniness. Literally the only thing clean about it was the 2 beds in which we slept. Both with bright white linens and a cheap summer like top blanket. (Not referring to the decorative blanket either lol) |Which brings me to the first issue HEAT or lack there of. The thermostat was clearly there for looks.. registers were ice cold proving there was no heat escaping. It was 30 or below outside that night and literally the heat didn't kick on one time! Thankfully we had extra blankets in the dresser.. mine in which looked like someone had taken scissors to and cut a 100 holes in (photo below) |There was food crumbs next to the bed and under the dresser. |The refrigerator had so many crumbs in the bottom as well, I left my leftover food in the car.. no way was I putting it in there |The microwave.. same gig.. loads of food crumbs|The mirrors had so much dirt and streaks I literally wrote hello and you could see it! (Look close at the pic posted you can see and that wasn't even the mirror I wrote on lol) |There were cobwebs in every corner of the room, including inbetween the night stand and the beds. |The heater vents looked like they had never been taken apart and cleaned before... literally. |Luckily my mom brought her own hair dryer cause no way.. you couldn't even barely see the coil things it had so much dust|The water was so hard in the shower my mom was convinced she didn't like the shampoo she had brought because it made our hair so so hard feeling.. nope I've never felt such hard water.. softener helps you know|But speaking of shampoo.. make sure you bring your own cause all they offer is soap and an empty soap and shampoo dispenser on the shower wall. They must like the things just there for looks thing||||Pros||Check in was super easy.. even without a reservation |There was a coffee maker if you dared to use the water |Cable worked|Convenient for a smoker to just be able to step outside your door and have a butt.. but don't forget that key card cause the door locks...
Read moreBooked as a group with other family members for two nights. Mine and my two daughters room was pretty clean. The carpet wasn't fully vacuumed, and there was what appeared to be a used towel hanging in the bathroom. But overall, the beds were clean, bathroom/sink area clean, and we had clean towels for the three of us. My daughters and I loved the campfire area next to the pool, and I'd say that was the highlight of the stay. || Unfortunately, when we were getting ready to leave two days later we realized my daughters jewelry that had been left in a small box on the nightstand when we first arrived was missing. The day before when we came back to our room it had been serviced (found a towel that was stained), and my youngest daughter's bag had been moved from the floor in front of the dresser to the head of the bed next to the nightstand where the jewelry had been, but my oldest daughters bag remained on the floor next to the radiator (why wasn't the other bag moved off the floor?). My family helped me go through the room, bags, vehicles, and trash, but we couldn't find it anywhere. We talked to the owner, and he said his two 15 year old nieces cleaned the rooms yesterday, and that he would have them look for the jewelry when they clean again. He took a description of the jewelry, and said he'd call me with an update. Two days later he called to tell me that they didn't find anything, and I was reimbursed for my stay. My daughter was devastated, and it doesn't look good for them. This place has the potential to be fantastic, but they're not off to a very good...
