The campground was nice, but a camp host was incredibly rude. My wife apparently made a mistake and reserved only 2 nights instead of 3 and on our third day we left to go to Ape Caves and came back to one of our campsites cleared and condensed over and a confused (but very nice) camper who had reserved the whole row for a big group camp out. After discovering our goof up I went to the camp host (boat dock end) to explain our mistake and ask if there was any available spaces we could move to and buy another night and she was incredibly rude, just ignoring my explanation entirely and spouting that checkout was at 11 and she just didn't understand why we weren't out (even though I had just explained it). The entire problem could have been avoided if they had done ANY part of their job. They never came by the site to check us in like LITERALLY every other campground staff I have ever had in my life would do, didn't have a person at the booth so they never confirmed with us the details of our stay. Additionally they completely ignored a couple people having campfires even though they are banned due to fire risk, and didn't enforce quiet hours when the people across from us were running a generator until midnight. The shoreline of the bay was littered a ton (which we actually cleaned up for them btw) and the website information is not correct; water craft are allowed, swimming is open everywhere and there is no designated swim space because it dried up years ago. So the only swim area is for those who are experienced swimmers, there is no shallow swim area anymore. UPDATE YOUR SITE and get...

If you are booking beware that if you don't show up by 8pm you forfeit your reservation, and they close the gates at 9pm. Not sure why they have this policy but it is ridiculous. I understand closing the gates for the evening, but 9pm???!!! State parks are more generous with their closing times. The gate closing time is in the fine print so read carefully. This should be something in HUGE letters when booking.

In addition there is no contact number to call and no way to get in after 9pm. We had a minor crisis that was beyond our control that caused us a huge delay in our arrival time .

Needless to say, we were stranded without a place to stay. We ended up driving back and stayed at the Lone Fir resort. Jonathon was amazing. The office is closed but if you need a room, AND it is before 12am they will accommodate you. Absolutely saved us from staying in a parking lot. We told our story and Lone Fir said they get people that come to their resort all the time because of Beaver Bay's 9pm gate closing. So Beaver Bay will keep your money if it is after 8pm with the minor hope you can get a spot, and after 9pm will just keep your money.

Suggestion, if you need a night and full hookups, save yourself the pressure and headache of rushing to meet a ridiculous 9pm gate close at Beaver Bay and go stay at Lone Fir. Super close...

We got there and our site was mostly underwater. The host was able to let us to move 1 space over.. that s why i gace it 2 stars. The host had to be told about camp fires in a no burn band , didn't seem to matter much neither did loud music . Our granddaughter had not made it in. From Seattle and we were told they lock the gates at 9.and Her car wouldn't be allowed in. Really 9! We ask if we could go out and. Call to see where she was. He told us we could but wouldn't let us back in but was waiting to close the gate on a group of boy scouts. Why them and not us. He told us to go to day use and our phone would come in. That was a joke by the way those scouts got up each morning at 5 am they were not quiet , and there was so many we could hear their sleeping bags being unzipped Pans banging and a lot of talking our granddaughter came in the next morning. We never met the host for section b..isn't there a limit on how many...

We spent two nights here on the weekend. We found the site to be well shaded with many tall trees but very few shrubs to provide each site with any privacy. The campground in general was noisy, especially after the posted quiet time with no enforcement of the rules. Despite there being a posted burn ban, there were multiple sites having camp fires with no enforcement to put out the fires. The single restroom was very poorly maintained and not sufficient to handle the number of campers. There was a bathhouse but it was quite a distance from our camping area ( Loop A) and not convenient for a quick visit. The bathhouse was also poorly maintained. The "beach" or "swimming area" was horrible. Broken glass, overused and rocky. This campground needs a lot of work and, sadly, I would not recommend it.

Non state run campground on Yale Lake in SW WA State was home for two nights of tent camping over the 4th of July weekend. Staff was friendly; it was quiet at night; lake access was close by; boat ramp is a single and in good condition; tent sites in group area were good on average; central pavilion was in good condition. The restrooms were okay. Shower water pressure inconsistent. Ventilation is restrooms not great. Some tent sites in group area were on wet ground. Cell reception was NOT available in camp for most people and weak when it was. Don't count on it. Overall its was nice and we had a good time.

Easy to check in, and helpful hosts, but make sure you get there within the check in times. Absolutely great spot near Portland. Campsite is really clean, as are the bathrooms. Big spots, good vibes. We went with friends and booked 2 spots, but could definitely have shared 1. Take chairs for the beach as it’s pebbles and also any paddles board/floats as the water is amazing. Fire pits are level and have grill racks so you can cook on them. Have fun campers!! Spots B8 and B9. Very close to bathrooms and day/swimming area. Big spots!
