I would put this hotel up against any that I have stayed in. Situated across the street from West Battle Lake, the Battle Lake Inn and Suites is a short walk to the quaint downtown, full of some nice local restaurants, bakeries, and shopping. The Glendalugh Trail runs right by the Inn which is very convenient for runners, walkers, and bicyclist looking to stay active. The facility itself was fantastic. Recently updates, the rooms were clean, fresh, and very comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the towels were soft, and the staff took great care of us and our rooms during our stay. The only constructive feedback I would have for the property is this. First, in the basement suites, put some sort of curtain up in the small bathroom windows - we put some boxes up in the window to prevent giving the neighbors a free show. Second, the egress window wells to the bedrooms are a cemetery for trapped frogs. We opened the window one night to get some fresh air, but there was an unpleasant smell which I assume came from all the frogs that had met their fate at the bottom of the window well. Easily fixed by keeping the window closed. Very minor things, but overall, what a great place to stay. We'll keep this on our list for any time we travel up...
Read moreWhat a great place to stay. This is a totally physically contact free Inn. Everything is done online. Worked perfectly. There is a number to call if you need anything and someone answered and helped me out at 10:30 at night. Rooms 1-12 have a front veranda with seating but not a straight on lake view. There is a center room for guests to use a computer, printer, coffee maker, get brochures and beside there is a separate building to do laundry. I never checked that out. No need. Our room was 13- The Tornado Room. Says so right in the door. You go down a short flight of stairs to a larger basement room. Oh don’t be shy. It was great. Kitchenette, full fridge, microwave, sink, storage, table and chairs but no utensils or dishes. A lovely bathroom that could almost have served as a bedroom. Plenty of room. The space itself was large and open. If you have kids plenty of play room for them. A very comfortable and cool room considering it was 32/85 or better everyday. Has A/C of course. When looking at the Inn I would say that our downstairs room was almost the same size as two main floor rooms above us. Great value here that...
Read moreThe rooms are a bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids, but we made it work just fine. The positive points are low cost and 4 out 5 on the cleanliness. I think I counted 6 spiders just hanging out on webs just along the wall joins the ceiling. Also, there were Smudges on the ceiling were someone who previously stayed obviously was into smashing bugs or spiders on the ceiling. In the bathroom there is no shower curtain liner, just the curtain which is very odd. Anyways the curtain will get soaked with water quickly and water will then leak on the floor. So don’t fall getting out and don’t leave anything on the floor you don’t want getting wet. There is only one hook on the door to hang something from, need more hooks in the bathroom and need some in...
