So, we’re here in Minnesota helping a friend move and we’ll be here a couple weeks. We decided to go out to eat Saturday and picked the Shoreline to dine as they have dine-in seating. I was happy to see they were practicing social distancing. This turned out to be a big mistake. The service was terrible! Our young waitress (who never told us her name) ordered our food incorrectly, offered me fries then when they didn’t come said sorry doesn’t come with them my mistake, never came back to fill our drinks, never brought the bill or boxes for the leftovers. After about 40 minutes of waiting, we CALLED the restaurant to ask for our bill. She waitress seemed surprised but still didn’t take care of our needs. It was probably the worse experience in a long time. The food however was fantastic. SOOO . . . With really no where else to go, we went back yesterday (Sunday) and it was 150% BETTER. Our waitress seated us immediately, introduced herself, checked on us during our meal and even wore a face mask unlike the waitress the day before. I felt safer. The ribs were the best II have ever had. The food was simply amazing.
I’m so glad we decided to go back! It was worth it! We will be...
Read moreNot super impressed. My husband’s Cobb salad was good and my son’s grilled cheese was, but I ordered the peppercorn steak with mango chutney. The server didn’t seem to know what I was talking about so I had to point it out on the menu. She brought me a peppercorn steak with nothing on it. It was cooked very well and the sides were good but the pepper was so overwhelming I had to scrape as much off as I could. I asked about the chutney and she didn’t know what it was, then asked the cooks and they said they don’t make it because no one ever orders it. Why is it on the menu then?... So they couldn’t put sauce on it. It was never communicated to me that it wasn’t even an option to make it, they just made the steak and served it without talking to me first. I didn’t want to pay $24 for a plain steak so I asked if I could just pay whatever the price of a regular steak was. She came back with $1 off. A whole dollar. I literally would have just gotten a $10 burger if I had known the mango chutney wasn’t even an option. We don’t often eat out and aren’t flush with cash so that was the only thing that convinced me to splurge. I’m really disappointed. Kind of put a damper on my...
Read more1st time visit. Went here for dinner on a Tuesday night for something different. The place sits directly across from a lake & I thought it would be more upscale or fancy, you might say, considering its location, but it is not. The place is divided into 2 sections (bar / restaurant). Oh wait, it's 3 sections because the back is a small bowling alley / game area. We sat in the bar area (at the time of seating, I didn't know about the other section), which was ok, but noisy due to bowlers. Bartenders were very good, prompt, & polite. Food was mediocre as both our burgers were very overcooked, dry, & seasoned less. Prices were normal for bar food. I guess I envisioned something different from this place.
UPDATE: Made another trip here for lunch & sat in the restaurant side. Have to admit, I liked the atmosphere, service, & food MUCH better this time. Had bbq ribs lunch special - really...
