Inn was under construction and remodeling. Debris was all throughout the hallway and room was not fully put back together. This was not an issue for us, we only slept there. The staff at the inn were extremely friendly and helpful. Did the ice fishing package with the resort and that part was a nightmare. There was 3 of us in the party and we each paid for the pole rental, on day 1 we noticed once we got to the fishing hut that we had no poles. Told the guide and he said ok, got back in his vehicle and drove off. Wasn’t sure if he was returning or not. A different guide finally showed back up with a total of 2 poles, one had the handle on the reel missing. The guide then went back and grabbed 4 more poles, leaving the broken reel with us. It was roughly and hour and a half before we were able to actually start fishing. Day 2 guides did not check on us like advertised and we had to call the resort at 2pm (they pick you up to go back at 4:30pm) to ask why a guide hasn’t came to check on us. We literally watched the guide leave a different hut that a few of the guides had been parked outside of all day, come over to check on us. When he arrived he made a sarcastic comment about the possibility of moving and I replied that at least we weren’t missing our poles today. He responded with at least we got them to you. As the guide was leaving he also commented that he couldn’t make the fish bite. We caught a total of 2 fish early that morning and never was moved to ensure every opportunity like advertised. Guide came back to pick us up and the 4 wheel drive on the vehicle would not engage. The vehicle got stuck so we had to get behind it and push the guide out so we could go pick up the other clients in our group. While talking with the other parties in the group we find out that another group had the same issue, they had to call the resort to ask about the guide checking on them. The staff at the resort bar and restaurant were wonderful. The fishing part was really the disappointment. Will never go through this service again. We actually caught one walleye that was 24 inches, the 15 other fish we caught were under 16 inches. ||I will add that we did contact the inn manager and we are waiting on a response...

I would do 3.5 stars for this hotel but I can only do 1-5. This is a quaint hotel in fishing country. We decided to drive up the day before our cabin was available and we have always driven by this hotel so opted to stay here.

The staff are super friendly. From the gal who called to take out reservation to the front desk guy. Both were pleasant to talk to. The room is quiet. Solid walls. We did not hear a thing all night. Bed is comfy. It is noisy when you sit on it so we were worried about sleeping on it but it was good. Endless hot water for the shower. Note that if you are over 5’4” you will have to duck your head under the shower head. The room was clean. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the room which we didn’t use.

The only thing I would say needs work is the carpet. It looks old and there are a number of stains on it. It should be replaced. We just kept our socks on to walk on it.

All in all we would definitely...

My boyfriend and his family have been coming up to Baudette fishing on LOW for many years. They stayed here the first night, last weekend with a 40 degree room all night. Nor my boyfriend or his elderly grandfather slept at all. The windows were old and leaked heat out, the room was drafty because of this and the room was very outdated. His grandfather politely asked for a different room, to which the receptionist, who was the manager, said she would talk to her boss. When they came back from fishing later that night, she said because they didn't say anything about the room the first night there were no other rooms available and there was nothing she could do about it now. She offered extra blankets and a space heater. She called her boss on the spot and the phone went to voicemail, wow. She didn't offer to comp the night or anything. They will not be staying here ever again. It's hard to support local when there's extremely poor...
