The Bad & the Good.
The Fort Wilderness campsites are great. Clean, friendly & helpful staff, ample transportation with boats & buses. For as close as the sites are to each other the place lets you enjoy sitting outside as roudy folks and noisy pets are quickly dealt with. The campsite has a clean picnic table, concrete pad with gravel rear extension if needed and includes a clean up hose by the sewer along with a in the ground stainless steel sink to wash parts if needed.
The Pioneer Restaurant - Breakfast stinks period. Take out almost $12 for a breakfast named "Hearty" Disappointed as the 4 meals had way over deep fried tater totes which had no more potatoe in them. Hearty??? More like Hardly with the small portions of scrambled eggs, 2 sticks of french toast & 1 biscuit. Thought it was a kids meal! The sit in breakfast buffet was better with all you can eat for just $25 a person. Yup $25 a person... guess it had better be all you can eat. Suggest you take the boat over to the Fort Wilderness Lodge and eat at the at the indoor Cafe'. Staff is friendly and quick with the service and checking on our party of 4. Food came out of the kitchen promptly hot & moist
Strongly suggest the Hoop-Di-Do Review. $65 a head but lots of delicious all you can eat hot viddles (baked chicken, Ribs in BBQ sauce, corn, grn beans and corn bread). Great show with lots of audience inclusion with kids fully engaged!!! Entertainers and musicians were great and friendly. A great G-Rated show We enjoyed the Hoop-Di-Do so much we asked cast members in the Fort Wilderness Lodge if there was another show. Strange... all did not know of the dinner show at the Polynesian! Disappointed we booked a off Disney dinner show with no refund before we found out about the Polynesian show.
All Cast members need to know whats available or refer to someone who knows. BTW. The Disney downloaded app had no mention of the Polynesian show... with 3 of us looking. Sad for us, but if you have read this review this far -...
Read moreI've been coming to the campground since I was a kid. I really do love it but I do think that they have allowed campers to get a little bit too comfortable. For instance a lot of people decorate their sites which is really cool but eight out of ten of the decorations I seen go against what Fort Wilderness policy says online. Just like they're not supposed to have any giveaways or trick or treating which is in the rules and they allowed at trick-or-treating last year which causes a chaotic mess during the month of September October and then November December for Christmas. I've also noticed that people do not turn off their decorations like they're supposed to during quiet time which is 11 to 7 and I wish that Disney enforced that rule and made people aware that they should be turning off all their decorations and lights and blow up machines. I don't think people realize how loud those blowing machines are especially for 10 sleepers. Not to mention the lights who could affect people with medical conditions like epilepsy. There's no reason to have rave lights on your Campground site. Let people enjoy the campground. If it gets worse people are going to stop going to the campground because it's not going to be enjoyable and you're not going to be able to sleep. I also like the Comfort stations but I don't love that they don't have any companion showers or bathrooms. So if you have a family member a child or a grandparent that needs assistance with showering or going to the bathroom there is no companion bathroom option. You either go in the men's or the women's bathroom. They do have laundry facilities in each. They do have laundry facilities in each Comfort station which is great but I wish they would have companion bathrooms with showers too. If you're a light sleeper or you have kids that are light sleepers I don't particularly suggestive Campground because people can be loud and...
