Just stayed here a week in a cabin and brought my own boat. Some friends that went with us went out with Pat for guided fishing. I’ll be completely honest, the cabins aren’t much…in fact the first thing I did was check for bed bugs (none were found). They’re old, our AC didn’t work at first, the docks are kinda sketchy, the lodge smells, there’s nowhere to eat nearby…BUT we had a blast and Pat and his family will do everything they can to make your stay worth it! They fixed our AC immediately (and the AC works really good) and even loaned us a few extension cords so we could charge the boat batteries up at night since our dock was 150 feet from the cabin. The fishing was tough at times and wonderful at other times, but that’s fishing. We all caught several over slot walleyes, northern pike and lots of perch. Pat sure knows the lake. He even told us to follow him around in his guide boat so we could learn some areas to fish. We will definitely come back, but I wouldn’t recommend bringing anyone who cringes at staying in less than ideal conditions (like my wife). This is more of a fish “camp” than a resort. With those warnings…I would still recommend a fishing...
Read moreWe purchased a season pass this last ice season and quickly regretted closing this resort. Roads were not plowed as they would pistbon FB, we were on the lake many times where they would post they're working on roads and we could clearly see they weren't. We liked to come mid-week and shoots would be snowed/drifted in, weekend spots weren't cleaned up from previous houses and when we'd ask if they could come freshen a spot- they wouldn't do it. They smoke in the main bldg and bait bldg, you stink when get out of there. On a few occasions, staff was not anxious to assist with getting bait and acted like you were interrupting them. Parking on the lake was a challenge, having a season pass we assumed the area would always be plowed well enough for parking and it never was. We would have to park our fish house practically in a snowbank on an end, hoping it was sufficiently parked without creating issues. It was apparent that the weekend fishhouse arrivals were more important to them than week day fishhouses. We certainly will not be giving our business to this resort ever again. It was an expensive...
Read moreJust stayed there. Very disappointed. Appears to have been neglected for a long time. Docks in the harbor are dangerous. Entire sections are missing with remnants of old posts sticking up out of the water. Walkways that tilt at a 30 degree angle. No AC unit in the cabin. Couldn't open a window because the screens were broken on most of the windows and the windows wouldn't stay up. Hot as heck in the cabin the first two nights. Killed about 10 hornets inside our cabin. Three or four a day. Don't know how they were getting in. Charged us for 3 dozen shiners and we only bought one. Tried to bill us for 4 nights when we were only there for 3. Nope. ...
