MacDarvey Castle — Hotel in Benezette Township

We are an extended family of 11, including a 2, 4 and 6 year old. The house had lots of space in the great room and outdoor large fenced in deck for them to play. The kitchen was clean and amply supplied for cooking and eating. The decor of rooms was nice and the high ceilings and many windows of the great room gave lots of light and outdoor viewing. It was great to have WiFi, and cell reception at the castle - as our cell phone had no service in the local valleys. We enjoyed a foil supper cooked over the fire pit on the large deck using our self supporting wire grate set in the fire pit; then enjoyed s'mores for dessert. After dark the stars were bright. Got to see several shooting stars as well as a dim view of the milky way in-spite of a waxing half moon. Elk bugled nearby at dusk and after dark. We saw enough elk to satisfy our curiosity while driving to various viewing areas. The bedrooms accommodated our families well. We were glad to have brought our own pillows. I have reviewed this beautiful establishment before, and I still agree...Its a wonderful experience! Staying at MacDarvey's Castle is very unique. Its like going to a 5 Star Condo rental, in a castle inspired theme environment. Modern amenities, plenty of spacious guest rooms, and community rooms. It is tastefully decorated in the castle theme, the bedrooms are well appointed with nice rest rooms, dressing areas, closets seating and comfortable beds. The views are just breathtaking, and the decks are absolutely a great added amenity to enjoy the evenings outside, complete with fire pit or grills! This Castle is well worth the experience! Our Stay at the castle was an awesome experience but was under different ownership. So with the current owner I can not give any good nor bad reviews. What I do know is that the current owner also has a little business called “the custom shop”. If you don’t care about what happens to your original photos then this won’t affect you, but if you are like me and take pride in your photography then don’t get anything made here. I came back the following spring to find my photo on numerous items in his shop and around town with my photograph on them. He had no permission to use it besides the item I bought from him.
