We only stayed one night in one of the cabins, but I want to come back and stay longer. The front area is pretty bare, set up to accommodate RVs efficiently, but the back area has many trees and is peaceful and lovely. The spaces are generous and shaded and include picnic tables and bbq grills. The tent spaces have nice level tent platforms, and an electric outlet so you can charge your devices (!). There is a large area at the back that can accommodate groups, and the owner told me that they can bring in a port-a-potty for groups in that area, since the walk to the bathrooms would be a bit long. The bathrooms were great! Super clean, spacious and attractive. I did wish there was a handheld shower. There's a rec room with a pool table near the office, and that's where the coffee bar is. There's a microwave in there too. Ok, on to the birds! I'm a birder and this is a great spot to see Vermillion flycatchers, a variety of warblers, doves, phainopepla, roadrunners....we were there in May and it will vary seasonally. The highlight for me was the many lesser nighthawks that are attracted to the bugs which are attracted to the lights at the front of the office. We sat out at a picnic table at the front for about an hour watching the moonrise and about 6 nighthawks that were catching bugs above us. Then I came out late to use the restroom, and there were at least 20! So cool. The owner says they get owls, too, but we didn't see one. Maybe next time! Note on the pool: the owners have been working on it for a long time but they told me it's about done. It looks like it will be very nice, with a hot tub and a poolside shower. Also, some of the older pics show a water feature (brook?) that's currently dry. Just fyi. Super great place to stay. We're thinking about returning with a group of friends and using it as a base to explore the area...it looks like there's lots to see and do, if you like nature, especially birding.

When you first drive in it looks like a gravel parking lot in the desert off some dirt road on the edge of town. But don't judge it too harshly just yet! That's the Journey part of this KOA for travelers on a one night stay. Once we checked in with the incredibly friendly staff (who live on site btw, to me that says a lot) we were escorted to our site via a valet on a golf cart who guided us onto the site we had reserved in the best way possible for our 32 foot camper to easily pull into position! Immediately we felt welcome and right at home. Best of all, once we were set up for a 2 day stay, we were left alone to enjoy this oasis in the desert! After the stargazing, wildlife including cute hares all over, birds of variety and burros from the private property next door, and it's close proximity to Tombstone, this KOA is AOK in my book! If you ever find yourself in southern Arizona for any reason, do yourself a favor and stop at the Benson, AZ KOA. It's worth it!

Wonderful campground! Nice, clean sites that were level with a new picnic table, some with trees. Garbage drops were close and camouflaged. Nice playground. The cabins were adorable, each with a porch swing. Cute, little dog park. Main building had clean laundry, restrooms, a game room with pool table, and a small store with souvenirs and essentials you may have forgotten. Staff was delightful and accommodating. We changed our reservation twice, once we arrived, with no trouble at all. Readily answered questions about camp or the surrounding area. They have some nice improvements and programs planned. When the pool is completed this summer it will be near perfect. Right now it’s too cool to swim and the views make up for it anyway. We would definitely stay here again!

This place is aweful, by far the worst I've been too. The family park managers have really run it into the ground. They charge for absolutely everything. You go in expecting to pay 320 a month you come out paying 40 dollars a person for access to the bathrooms which I'm pretty sure is illegal, 40 dollars extra for your 3 old. If you are monthly you have no rights. You can't use pool. They will talk to you about how others residents are quote " low class" . They make up rules as they go. Its a really nice piece of property too bad they are the caretakers.100 dollar deposits on electric as well. They are very rude, barely speak English and think they are better than everyone else. Its astounding they don't hand you any park info when you check in and they will say one thing one day and something else the next. The extra charge for the restrooms is because they have to clean them I guess it doesn't look like it to me. The internet sucks no tv signal. There is donkeys next door which didn't bother me but I could see how it would frustrate others they are really loud all day and night. The maintanence man really creeps me out I think he's on meth or something and he will stand right by your trailer just looking up into the sky mouth wide open. I wish I could put negative stars. Unfriendly, expensive, ridiculous. I had to get my money back and leave...
