We’re in the RV park. Public bathrooms are bit dated, but clean and it is lovely here. It’s got so much land, a gorgeous pond to fish and a beaver family to watch. Everyone has been kind and friendly. What a difference from the last place we were at. Definitely avoid Moon River in Cadiz. Our dog has room to run and fetch. I know our month here will fly by! Dollar General and food giant along with fast food is 8 minutes away down the road.
It’s so peaceful and tranquil here. Surprised it’s not busier as it’s right off the highway too. Definitely a hidden gem. Update: we ended up here for 2 months sorting medical ! Everyone is lovely, kind and helpful. Manager is a helpful, nice guy who always answers his phone. Lots of permanent and long termers, with a few shorter stays. I don’t know why the negative reviews exist. If you want high end KOA then pay for a KOA. There’s families here and it’s clean and everything works. It’s a great deal for the price. Yes, some cats are free to roam the campgrounds, but there’s zero pests here and they are friendly cats. You could winterize with hay here and never see a mouse! One camper gave us a 22 lb bag of Friskies cat food his didn’t like. Truly kind folks here. We have felt safe here...
Read moreLocation: Near the Kentucky damn state park. Great access to Land Between the Lakes. 1 hour from the front gate of Ft. Campbell.||||Grounds: RV park is in the open. There are some really nice locations for tent camping||Cabins are multi-units located between a lodge and the RV park. I believe there is a single cabin on the grounds.||||Cabins: the unit we stayed is was an end unit.||The cabins have seen better days; however, we found them to be well maintained, very clean, roomy, and comfortable. The stove, fridge, microwave, utensils, pots and pans where all very clean and fully functional. AC worked great.||The maid service was very good, but our towels did smell of cigarette smoke.||The only view from our cabin is of the backside of a lodge.||||People: The only reason to rate this as high as I did was because of the people who were staying at the Resort and RV park, and the people who operate the facility. Campers and RVers are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but the interactions we had with the staff made...
Read moreLet’s start with what we found good here. The hookups are solid, power, water and septic all worked well. Most sites had a concrete patio, be it they have been there quite a while. Monte, the manager always answered the phone and was responsive. The price was great at $35 per night even on Labor Day. We booked a week out and it was the only place we could find a spot. Now for the rest. If you don’t have an onboard shower I would NOT recommend coming here, the bathhouses are pretty gross. There was a shattered bottle in the grass right beside our pad. Monte texted us the Wi-Fi but we could never even find it to log on and we were in the middle of the campground. There was a mix of transients, long stays and some units that have or will be there forever. In summary if you’re looking for a base of operations to be mobile from, this place works, it you’re looking for a campground to hang out in during the time you are in the Grand Rivers area, you might want to consider other...
