A beautiful campground with a few caveats. The not so good: #1 -The campground is located next to 91 so depending on your site there's a fair bit of road noise. Fortunately there are trees between the campground and hwy and that helps. #2 - The hwy exit is a ways from the park and you can't follow gps unless you have a short RV as there's an 11' even bridge. You have to go the long way around to get here. #3 - There are only a few sites with full hookups. These sites appear to be aleays occupied so plan on using the dump station. #4 - The stream behind the park is very pleasant, but means more flying insects. Now the good - #1 - the people who work in the park are wonderful and helpful. #2 - Restrooms and showers are clean, the camp store has useful supplies too. #3- Sites are well spaced and many back to the wonderful stream. #4- The town of Bernardston is attractive and Quaint and has a couple good Pizza places (one organic) and an inexpensive full-service gas station. #5 - The campground is well maintained. Everything appears to be in good repair. #6 - With Passport America it's also very inexpensive. 4 nights at $12/night then $24/night after that anywhere in MA is excellent. All in all Travelers Woods is a good stop if you're in the area. Just pay attention to the...
Read moreWe are from the area, and find ourselves visiting family and friends every few years. This is our go to RV place - there are few amenities, but it is as good as it gets in the area. Close to the highway (the bridges are a work in progress) so there is plenty of road noise. Still no over the air TV reception, and no cable (except in the lounge next to the office), the cell service was acceptable. Surprisingly very good WiFi - we were provided with a signal that was almost always better than average.||We stayed in the upper level with full hookups 30A only. The grassy spot was not as level front to back as I would have liked, but I carry a small lumberyard for leveling the coach (they could add some gravel or crushed stone) - the connections were convenient and they functions properly. The folks that work in the office, and work the grounds were a pleasure to interact with, they seem to really enjoy what they do, and the place shows it.||The larger lower level (no sewer hookups) has better than half the sites occupied by folks that live there for the summer, or leave their RV and visit...
Read moreI see this RV park as a bit of an undiscovered gem. My brother-in-law and wife have been coming here for years. The seasonal price is very reasonable, so much so that a number of people bring their motorhomes or trailers, set them up and visit when they have time through the summer. It looks like it's all grass but if you look closely, the sites have stone and are stable even when it rains. It is a bit back to nature (no cable TV, no antenna reception, only satellite if you have a site that allows a clear view). No pool but their is a pavilion and frequent social events. But it is very clean, peaceful and the staff if very friendly and helpful. There are no dumping hookups down in the lower area by the stream. But the staff does regular pumpouts and will do an off schedule one for only $4. It is looked very close to I-91 very close to the Vermont border. Be careful to take the route in that avoids the low bridge! We booked for the season and will...
