We had stayed at this inn for many years with no issues. The ownership changed last year and we noticed maintenance issues this time like rust in the sink, broken woodwork in the bathroom and the lock was broken on our door. The towels were small and thin. The owners were rude and disrespectful. When we arrived at 430pm the office was closed with a note on the door saying to go to your room so we went to our room ( which we had booked 3 months prior and received a confirmation.) The owner was rude and sent some crass guy to our room who said quote " This isn't your room and you need to leave." He didn't even introduce himself or ask who we were. He refused to look at my confirmation for the room and refused to take payment from us. He called the sheriff to tell us to leave. They had double booked the room. I found out that they paid $750.00 to put the other guests up at an inn closeby. They lost the rate we would have paid as well which was $360.00. So their ignorance cost them over $1000.00. These guys are ruining what used to be a nice inn. We only had to pay a couple hundred more to stay somewhere else which was mu h more secure and...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite "stops" in Bethel, ME.........we just got home from a 2-week stay at the Rostay, and we couldn't be more thankful and happy for the wonderful and accommodating stay with the adorable family that owns the Rostay. We have stayed there many times during the summer AND winter months, when there were different owners who were ALSO awesome, but this new couple and their family are just the best! So friendly, and accommodating and met our every expectation for our 2 week vacation during this challenged time of 2020....it made us forget what the world had to offer and just let us enjoy the adorable room which has EVERYTHING you could need for a stay, whether it be one night or several......and enjoy all the wonderful and beautiful things Bethel has to offer. From the pool, to the hot tub, to the accommodations in the room, this is the ultimate vacation spot for us! We'll be back next year, hopefully for a longer stay with these fine folks!! Thank you for everything!! Enjoy your winter and hope to see...
Read moreStayed here summer of 2014. We were disappointed by the strong small of cleaning chemicals upon arrival that never went away even with airing the room out. The small room had been shut up tight with the odors inside. The blankets were stained, the pillow cases offered a variety of shades of white with stains showing their age. Very little light in our room with the small windows. The bathroom was very tiny and everything in the room was old from faucets to the 13" CRT TV. I hate showers that are not taller than me. We could tell the shampoo bottles were just refilled from the previous person. Wifi was too slow to stream netflix. My wife made us sleep on a blanket I keep in my car on top of the bed, but she seriously considered joining my buddies who chose to camp in Bethel. I would never stay here again and cannot believe it is a "3 star hotel". It shouldn't cost more than $70/night to stay here. It just felt gross, moist, and despite the cleaning chemical...
