I anticipated going here after my sister filled me in on the lore of its recent reopening in 2021 after being closed for about ten years. Our family drove to Maine to see what's up. First thing you probably already saw in the other reviews is that its CASH ONLY which is unfortuate but not a big deal either. As stated on the website, it was indeed a "championship" course! Pretty tricky! Which was a lot of fun and it was a good challenge. Some balls got lost in the water... not all times were because of strokes, I may or may not have accidentally thrown my sister's ball into the water (Sorry LMAO). Anyways, the course wasn't in the best shape but it was certainly playable. A few things in particular I'd like to mention is:
#1: A tarp or banner on the ground partially obscuring the bottom portion of the top part of Hole 11. It did not greatly impact the hole but was very obstructing and noticeable.
#2: The tight middle section of the splitting putt ground in Hole 8 was overgrown, which caused our balls to get stuck if we took that route.
#3: One of the two tube holes in the last 18th hole caused my ball to get stuck inside of it (From looking at it from the prespective of the indoor rock section, it was the one on the left).
Also keep in mind that we went in late August of 2022 so things may be different by the time I post this or when YOU see this. As for the looks of the course, it's a nice little course. I enjoyed golfing under the path, in the bridge, under the slide, inside the rocks. It felt like a big adventure indeed! Though a small critique I have is that some of the hole posts were rotted, old, and unreadable (hole posts as in those posts that tell you the hole number and par). One of them turned into a canvas where people decided to write their names and names of their lovers on it with marker and pencil. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Big Adventure Mini Golf! Though the courses condition has some room for improvement, it wasn't enough to kill the fun! I recommend giving it a try if you like a good mini golf challenge or just like an adventure. I hope well for the future of Big Adventure Mini Golf and hope there will be more rounds of hardcore putting played for...
Read moreCalled ahead to confirm the latest tee time was 4:15. We arrived just before 4 and started pretty shortly after. We had a large group of 14 and broke up in to three groups. The first group only made it to hole 13 before the employee came around and explained that the course closed at 5 and we would all need to leave without finishing our game. Nowhere did it explain that we would not be permitted to finish after 5pm.
Previous google reviews mention that the owner feels the course should take 45 minutes to complete. That equals to 2.5minutes per hole for a group of 4 players. That is completely unrealistic. If you are not going to allow people to complete the course after 5pm, you need to rethink allowing them to start after 3pm. Our group should have been offered a refund for the remaining 1/3 of the course that we did not get to experience despite...

Add on due to owners response:
I highly doubt using the bathroom for three minutes would have changed anything regarding finishing the course, we skipped to the end because it was repetitive not due to time. Also our pacing drastically slowed after splitting up and doing it your way due to half of us having to complete the next hole before moving foreword instead of playing as a cohesive group. If you put half as much effort into maintaining your course and coming up with better hole designs as you do harassing paying customers who have had a bad experience at your subpar establishment people would have different opinions after they've left and wouldn't leave bad reviews. My advice to you would be to take an anger management class and reevaluate how you manage your time and effort regarding your business.
