My husband and I absolutely love this place as we have returned every year for the past three years so we can definitely say we know a bit about this wonderful place! Truthfully we have never come in the summer we usually come February and for the first time we came this year in November. As a winter get away we absolutely love it! First off this place is perfect if you want your own room/small lodge style instead of an average hotel room. Of course they have smaller motel style rooms here but we have stayed at The Rosewood Villa which was lovely but keeping returning to the Chestnut premier! Everytime we have stayed the place has been so clean and beautiful! We wanted a lodge style with a rustic yet clean touch but not overly tacky (too much moose/bear decor everywhere) and not overly modern, and a fireplace. This place accomplished all that and more! The fireplace is a heater no real flame but still it's perfect for us! Each time the rooms have been perfect, clean, and very relaxing! Due to it being updated it's nice to enjoy new furnishings that haven't been overly used yet! Yet they do keep up with maintenance though wonderfully! As for location and amenities this place is also right down the road from Dollar General as well. So if you need that emergency toothpaste, extra mug, snacks for kids, and more it's right there! The Chestnut premier also has the perfect view we adore for getting away from it all. It faces the water. We got to see beavers swimming and their dam which was very beautiful! Also, at night you do hear the geese honking but this was only in November. In the winter the water is frozen over making a beautiful scenic winter view! Also the Chestnut premier is two levels so the bedroom and bathroom are all below which I feel is so cozy and private for a couple. The Rosewood Villa is for a large family or friend trip but we wanted the upstairs loft space for reading relaxing and having extra space to move about. We've also along the years seen this place gloriously improve! They have little bridges now connecting the water areas and more rooms/lodges available yet we love to return to the one we like! Bobbi Sue is wonderful as we came in February and brought flowers from Valentine's Day and casually requested if they had an extra cup or vase somewhere if we could use it because we forgot. She sent someone out and got a vase for us! She is definitely a very helpful person and wants her guests happy! As for location, here are some that were easy to get to from here. Littleton is so close about 10 minutes away! The ride to Cog railway was easy as well as Canon mountain. All were not to far away. Also, in Bethlehem right down the road is Reckless Brewing which has a cute restaurant which we always return to as well! Also, in the future Bobbi Sue said more of the room will get places to make food because currently right now some are just microwave/refrigerator/toaster. So I'm sure that will help more guest with families/friend trips! We truly love returning. We love our cozy retreat in the mountains and can't wait to go back! Keep up the wonderful...
Read moreI apologize in advance for the length of this review, but perfection simply cannot be explained in 1 or 2 sentences.... My first interaction began when I originally called the property. A euphonious voice belonging to a woman named Bobbi-Sue answered the phone. I had inquired about a stay, and Bobbi-Sue took the time to answer my questions professionally & without hesitation. Initial Interaction & Phone Encounter was 5 Stars. I was presented with several options for my upcoming stay, and ultimately decided to book a reservation on the spot. Bobbi-Sue seemed passionate & knowledgeable about the property, and was the deciding factor in my reason for chosing to book this location over the competition. Booking & Reservation Process was 5 Stars. Upon my arrival at the property, I was given directions to the Check-In Office, where I had the pleasure of meeting the welcoming voice of Bobbi-Sue. I was presented with the key to my room, and directions to Rosewood Villa, #109. Check In & Arrival was again 5 Stars. I navigated accross the street to the opposite end of the property, and located Rosewood Villa #109. I was captivated by the quaint cabins dotting the property as I drove through, and I was already planning my next stay here in my mind before I arrived at my Villa. I opened the door to our Cabin, and the smell of pine board filled my senses. It felt like I was miles away on a mountain retreat, and was very welcoming & peaceful. The overall layout made for a great use of the space, and was perfect for my group. Cleanliness & Appearance was 5 Stars. I would recommend any couple or family looking for a charming place to stay while exploring the white mountain region to book a stay with Presidential Mountain Resort. I will most certainly return. Thank You Bobbi-Sue for making this trip one for the record books. -...
Read moreI wanted to take my son on a last minute ski trip to Bretton Woods. A group of us went online to check out local accommodations and came across the Presidential Mountain Resort, PMR. Previously we have stayed at the Best Western and Hampton Inn. The Cabins on the web page looked like a ton of fun. Each family could choose their own size cabin. PMR is ideally located about 20 minutes on a straight run to the mountain. PMR is only 5 to 10 minutes to several local breweries.
We booked online, but then the weather forecast turned awful. The forecast was 100% downpour and the following day 60 degree weather with potentially high winds. There was a snow storm arriving the end of the week which we thought might bring some ideal skiing. We called Bobby Sue to see what our options could be. Bobby Sue went out of her way to help make the time line work. She was friendly, courteous and 100% customer satisfaction driven. On the phone and in person she was a pleasure to deal with.
As to our Cabin it was perfect for what I needed. This trip was just my 13 year old son, his buddy and me. We picked a one Bedroom cabin, with a loft area. The bedroom contained a king size ( two twins) and a bureau. The 1/2 bath contained a stand up shower but wasn't cramped overall. The rest of the cabin contained a small dining area / living room. The loft was accessed via a ladder and was spacious for young kids on air mattresses. The bedroom and living area each had separate heating / cooling systems which made the temperature throughout the cabin ideal. The cabin was immaculate. The decor suited the cabin feel. The other family choose a two cabin with a larger dinning/kitchen area with a walk up loft.
If you want to give something other than the typical hotel room a try, take a...
