Overall the staff are kind and they work well with their customers. Especially the young ladies at the front desk. Always kind and efficient.
My issue is very specifically with the fridges. Several times the fridges haven’t worked or are broken. I stay here often and haul my own food due to strict dietary needs. Blanding doesn’t offer very much food I am able to eat so I meal prep for the week.
I’ve lost food now on 3 occasions. The first two were from staying in room 107. The freezer door is broken so it doesn’t cool below 60° confirmed with two temp guns.
I am in room 113 now, and the cleaning staff must unplug the fridges when they clean out rooms. I plugged my fridge in last night and woke up this morning to a warm fridge and $50 worth of food that is now bad. There is no customer service email that I can find to have a discussion about this. I am going to have to replace this food, and I won’t have access to the same foods in Blanding that I have access to in Colorado. It’s pretty frustrating. In my opinion the fridge should be plugged in so the customers have a cold fridge when they get to the hotel. It makes no sense to me why they’d keep them unplugged. Clean it and plug it back in. The cost savings are so minimal for energy to keep a tiny fridge plugged in.
*edited to say the total loss of food cost me $41. I went to Clark’s and purchased $31 of food to replace what was lost due to no fault of my own. I’ve now filled a cooler with 20 pounds of ice in hopes that my food will now stay good. I’d like for them to make this right as this is the third time this has happened and once resulted in food poisoning. The more I think about it the madder I get. Edited to 1 start to reflect poor service as most companies would reply with a solution. I hope that my company stops using this hotel due to...
Read moreBooked the 3 Queen Bed room while traveling through the area. Arch Canyon Inn is right off the highway, but tucked far enough back that you didn't notice street noise. There is a grocery store across the street if you need one.
Check-in was smooth, and the lady behind the counter was very nice. She gave clear instructions on wifi and where our room was, as well as where breakfast was served in the morning. There was a nice cat in the lobby my kids liked. There were a few different doors to enter the building so you could park closer to your room and not have to walk as far.
Our room was clean and comfortable with no odd smells. The in-room refrigerator did make a little noise from time to time but other than that it was pretty quiet and nothing woke us up in the night. Beds in that room seemed to be a little more on the firmer side.
Breakfast in the morning was great. There were waffles/syrup, breads and jams, oatmeal packs, cereal and milk, yogurt, eggs, fruit juices and coffee/hot chocolate. They kept the dining area clean and the server was keeping things stocked as more people came in.
Overall, very nice place to stay for the price. It is a bit older and in need of some touchups. The caulking on our bathroom sink was cracking, and carpets could use cleaning. Outside the door we parked by was a garbage can that either cats or racoons got to because there was some trash littered on the ground.
If you're not concerned with amenities and just want an affordable and clean place to stay in Blanding for a night or two, this could be a great place for you. It definitely worked out...
Read moreI stayed in room 109 on 9/3/24. I paid $90.97 including pet fee and tax. After a camping mishap, I needed a place to stay for me and my dog. I got a last-minute room with a hot shower and no bedbugs. What more could you ask for?
The Arch Canyon Inn (formerly Super 8) in Blanding, UT is fine for what it is. All the furniture & fixtures are very old, worn, and neglected, but also reasonably clean. The first thing I did upon arrival was to check all the seams on the bedclothes. All the bedclothes were clean and pest free. The floor could have been vacuumed better, as there was some hair and debris on the floor under the head of the bed. The mattress was very firm. I prefer a medium to soft mattress, so I didn’t sleep that well. The air conditioner (also very old) blew cold all night, so at least I was comfortable in that regard.
Breakfast was Frosted Flakes with UHT chocolate milk and Eggo waffles stored at room temperature. I would have preferred a slightly lower room rate and no breakfast. I left hungry and stopped at Maverik for a burrito.
Overall, this motel met my needs for the night, but was a bit expensive for what it is. I would’ve expected a base rate closer to $50, not...
