This was our first RV park after we first moved into our 43 ft fifth wheel & it was fantastic stay (1 year to be exact). The staff was always super friendly and helpful when we needed any type of assistance. They were able to fill up our propane tanks that they picked up from our site and dropped back off which was very convenient.
The views from this park were beautiful and definitely made us feel like we were in the country ( which we were), but grocery stores etc were only about 10 minutes away. Our site was gravel, had enough room for our fifth wheel + an area to park both of our vehicles. They also have picnic tables on every site. Our water pressure was not great, which we did not realize until after traveling to about 10 other parks and realizing everywhere else has better water pressure, not a make or break, and potentially was just our particular spot? The water in Texas is VERY hard, and this was evident. We did end up installing a water softener in our RV which saved the day! We had 50 amp electric and paid separately for that as a monthly park guest. The park had a clubhouse which was very nice; had a small fitness area, a communal kitchen, tables, lots of books, a TV, mens and womens bathrooms + showers which were always impressively clean! They had a pool which we ended up using a lot more than we thought we would due to the excessive heat this year! We were able to get our mail delivered to the front office & they offered the essentials for sale which was handy! They had numerous doggy stations with poop bags and trash cans to make cleaning up after our fur babies very convenient. There are a LOT of deer in this area, so be careful when driving early in the morning or late at night. We also got to see a lot of armadillos and for the first time a porcupine. We explored nearby Comfort, which was a hidden gem. Lots of shops and restaurants downtown. If you are into antiques, this is the place for you! Joshua preserve is about a 3 minute drive and has 2 dog parks which we took advantage of as well. Near the end of our time here we were able to get Starlink which worked fantastic for us. We will definitely return to TOH when we are...
Read moreThe amenities are the best I've ever seen. It was a wonderful place that I had many awesome memories at. They were also very supportive of my hobbies. The manager let me decorate the clubhouse many times. They treat everyone like family. This isn't just a place to stay but more like a community that treats each other like family. They also have a free table where people can put things they no longer want. People who aren't able to afford clothes etc. can then get things off the free table so they don't have to do without. There was several times that food was even put on the free table and due to this even though I wasn't getting paid enough to buy food working there I didn't have to go without food. Some of the clothes that are donated are worn with holes and stains which then crafters can get to make items. This really helps with the cost of crafting as some crafters can't afford supplies. The cabins could use some work where the windows are covered in paint splatters , wood is rotting, and paint is chipping But this gives them more of a rustic look. One of the restrooms was out of order most of my stay due to a floor that had rotted. There was still plenty of restrooms at the clubhouse though which is where I loved spending most of my time when I wasn't working. Overall it has its problems but doesn't everything? Oh another thing I really loved was that they had times where the community would meet up and have meals. The best cook out of all of them that I truly miss their food is Dee. Seriously she's such an amazing cook that she could own her own restaurant and make millions. She's also an amazing housekeeper. Though her cooking is where she truly shines. The view is amazing. You can truly see the stars. The most relaxing is floating in the pool while looking at the stars. There's a peace to that that can't even be described. The manager makes the best mixed drinks...
Read moreIn my most honest opinion, do not stay here. We stayed here 1 night on our way to SPI, and one night on our way back. Many of the tenants here are long term, but are snotty and will hog community spaces such as the pool or community building. The only food place that delivers is Pizza Hut, and management told us to get a pizza from dollar general 10 miles down the road. I asked one of the ladies in the office if they had a bathroom, and she immediately said no. Another girl sitting further away had a different opinion, but main girl shut her down. I asked why they wouldn’t let paying customers use the restroom and she said she didn’t have to let me do anything. Enough of the people, let’s talk about the cabins. The bluebonnet cabin is clean, with a loft (only for ages 10+) and a nice bed. The red rose cabin on the other hand was infested with bugs. Hardly any place to park, and the front door doesn’t shut or stay shut. Management ignored the problem and said if we didn’t like it we could leave. Kids will ride their bikes around the park and come right up to your stuff, no parents in sight, or will run around the pool and be a nuisance to those around them. Prices also vary depending on how management feels that day, we paid $145 for our first cabin, and when we came back and they gave us a cabin “identical” to that cabin, they charged us $15 more. Staff will ride around in their golf carts blasting music, which is more than annoying. This one is more my personal opinion, but some of the staff look like they’re in Halloween costumes. Please, do not stay here for...
