We were in unit 708.||PROS:||This is a great big property in a beautiful setting. BEST part was there is no additional fee for staying less than a week on an RCI exchange, we loved that! We had a 2BD-3BA unit with a full kitchen (#708), very spacious and very well appointed. The kitchen had ample utensils, bathrooms had ample supplies and towels. We liked that we could open the windows to let the fresh mountain air in. We had a nice view of the mountains and Fall colors. Parking is free. ||Staff was attentive and helpful, they brought us supplies when we requested. ||Having a restaurant on-site is a big plus esp in a remote nature setting like this. The Mon-Tue pizza nights are popular here, the pizza was delicious, I'm not even a pizza person and even I enjoyed it. Wed thru Sunday food is served in the tavern, mostly sandwiches and hamburgers type food. We didn't eat in the tavern as were out sightseeing late those days and ate in the other towns.||Location is awesome! This lovely property is set in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Bolton Valley is close to Stowe, Burlington, Montpelier, and the covered bridges of VT (must see). ||There is a game room/activity center that would be good for families with children, we did not use it. ||CONS:||The biggest disappointment is the hot tub schedule for off-season is not the best for visitors. In the 'shoulder' season the hot tubs are open only Thursday thru Monday. However the 4 nights we were there the hot tub was being replaced so couldn't use it at all.||The armchair in the living room needs to be dumped, the springs were totally shot, you sank to the bottom and felt the springs when sitting on it. I reported it to the front desk, hopefully they'll follow thru.||Also the levers to open/close the windows were broken or stuck, with great difficulty we could open slightly only 2 windows in the whole 3-BD unit. Looks like maintenance is neglecting to fix this. We reported this also but it wasn't anything urgent, it could have waited to fix after we left.||The visitor parking lot needs resurfacing and the road leading into the parking lot as well. Again not urgent, did not spoil our stay.||The ski lift was either closed or operating on limited schedule being off season, it didn't bother us as we were out during the time it would be open.||||Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would love to return...
Read moreWe stayed at the Inn for a wedding, as it was recommended for us to stay there by the bride and groom. Unfortunately, there was nothing more than average about this Ski Lodge. It is completely over priced for what is given to you. I can see it possibly being priced the way it is for the winter, but not any other other time. The parking is terrible. The parking is not guest friendly, as you will have to do some hiking to get to the main entrance, unless you are lucky to get 1 of there 14 parking spots close by. The staff tries to be nice, but we were locked out of our room on the second day of our trip, and was told that the girl didn't scan the cards correctly. The mountainside view room is nothing impressive. No dressers, some hooks to hang outfits, lukewarm and minimal pressure shower, and the beds are completely uncomfortable. Slept better at a Best Western or Days Inn or even on a wood chair, than I did here. We were unable to use their restaurant for breakfast, as it was entirely reserved by another party. There should be another option in place in these scenarios. It is a 30-40 min drive to anything close by, so again, getting breakfast turned into almost a 90 minute venture. The little market that is on site is completely, and understandably, overprice and the gentleman (I use that term loosely here) that works there has no customer service skills at all. Overall, it was just downright average. And that is putting it lightly. I would advise anyone looking to enjoy a mountain getaway, whether winter, or summer, or any other season, avoid this location. The only thing that was good about this stay, was that we left prior to anyone working the desk, and just had to put our...
Read moreI happened to be working in the area and the rates here were lower than the standard Fairfield option down the road, so I took a chance. Wouldn’t you know, I was pleasantly surprised to find clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff, (all but one ornery male bartender, don’t worry Matt and Andy, not talking about you 😉). The front desk personnel were incredible, working to keep me in the same room through multiple fully booked wedding weekends, thank you all so much for making that work! Rich did a great job freshening up my room weekly, even figured out I didn’t want the decaf coffees and started just leaving full caf for me, thanks Rich! This place is a real gem, nice and quiet most days, with the occasional live music or wedding to remind you how nice it is to be off the beaten path. Having the Bike park in the back yard was a real plus, I was able to do a couple days of lift access, and that was super fun! As for pedal access, they’re quite close to Cochran’s and the Driving Range, also Perry hill right there in Waterbury. The James Moore Tavern was a nice bonus, especially when the work day ran on and I didn’t feel like heading into town for dinner. Breakfast at the cafe was also handy. It would be nice if the TVs in the room were mounted a bit lower, as a gamer I found it a bit of neck strain to play GTA and Warzone online at night with the wife, wound up standing when things got real intense. If you’re tired of the typical cookie cutter Marriotts and Hilton’s and want to try something new,...
