My sister and I booked a room for one night for a local wedding. After walking in, We didn't stay. I wanted to like it because local is my jam, but it was filthy. There were leftover candy wrappers under the bed and I'm uncertain anything had been cleaned in quite some time...sheets appeared to be washed but the comforter was so filthy and stained it just needed to be thrown away. I didn't expect much for what B school lodging has to offer, but I can't even describe to you the smell. I was fearful for pests...And by no fault of the establishment probably, the extremely intoxicated fishermen sitting in the yard didn't help the atmosphere. There is no on-site management, you are just given a key code and with the upkeep of the rest of the facility I was not confident it was something that they would have cared enough to change. It was just an uncomfortable situation all the way around. Re-routed to Pickstown, was much better even though we had to drive...
Read moreGreat stay. Dave is very accommodating and will certainly be respected by those who frequent the motel. The farmers in the area are not encouraging new folks to come around asking to hunt or fish. This does not help promote tourism for the area--especially for hunters and fisherman. I have been visiting the area now for over 15 years because of one friend in the area. He has now passed. During all of that time, primary welcome communication was reflected by businesses in the area. It would be to your advantage to explore and list land owners who may be accommodating to responsible visitors (hunters and fisherman). Having folks who are welcoming will bring folks like me back to the area for extended stays that will benefit motels, gas stations, cafes, grocery stores,...
Read moreThis isn't a luxury hotel but it was EXACTLY what we needed. Checking in and out was extremely easy and quick and did not even require speaking with anyone. We were sent room access via phone. It was very very quiet. We were able to work on their wifi. It was located 30 seconds from the client I was there to train. 20 minutes away from the casino, the dam, and 30 minutes away from some nice small restaurants in the opposite direction. Across the street from the grocery store and a GREAT little coffee shop 1 block away. I could've walked there. I challenge anyone to beat the price and convenience if you need lodging...
