We are from Sioux Falls area and were staying at an airbnb in Bonesteel for a family reunion. We a group of 7 decided to stop in and get coffee. There were 2 other customers waiting ahead of us who knows how long. The barista was so slow and didn’t even acknowledge us. We decided to wait because we thought she was looking overwhelmed and gave her the benefit of a doubt. Then another employee showed up and again did not acknowledge us and she had no get up and go either. Then another customer comes in and sits down at the counter ahead of us now and she is acknowledged and starts smirking at us and gets her order taken. After 15-20 minutes of this we walked out. I don’t know what the coffee is like but their customer service is enough for me not to ever try it or recommend. I don’t know if this was an East river, West river thing but Bonesteel is barely West river. We ended up going to the convenience store Cahoy’s and getting coffee and the service there was right on par with the coffee shops. Waste of time, the treatment of travelers in this town is horrible. Lots of character in the restored building with a rustic flare. Easy walking distance to the Dakota Blue Lodge where we stayed.
