I can not say enough about this campground! I was looking for somewhere local to go over the 4th of July, but not the normal places where everyone is packed in and too much drama. I had my dogs and wanted to be able to let them have peace from the fireworks. On my Google searches, I found this campground and booked. I do not have a restroom in my camper and so they have water and electric sites, as well as full hook ups, so I took electric and water only to allow other rigs that might need the sewer. This place has friendly staff that are present onsite during the day. You can text them and they respond right away. (This was even the case while booking). They have an amazing log cabin store that has clean, nice bathrooms and showers onsite, as well as laundry! They even provide the soaps! (I am talking Tide here!). They have two Conistoga wagons for rent that are stunning inside. They also have a teepee that is available for rent. Many folks had rented the log cabins. They have various amounts of bedroom options. They leave a cooler outside of the store with ice cream and ice. You can drop money after hours or play with Venmo. They have various games around the property like cornhole or games that you catch things. There was a foosball table that a man was playing with his children. I felt so safe there. I was comfortable traveling alone. I was allowed to set up my dog gates. I had pre-read about no mats, so I didn’t try to set those up. I would love to come back and do an event here where everyone can rent all of the spots and just hang out. The Kootenai Falls swinging bridge is 32 miles away. It was a fun excursion. (Free)

This was our first visit to North Haven. What a find. Not far off highway 95 but so quiet and peaceful. "Rooms" above refers to the pull through rv site we had. Good sized pads with grass space on either side, adolescent evergreens between sites should provide real privacy in a few years, very thoughtfully laid out. Utilities were well located and in excellent shape. Owner/manager was great. Contacted us to let us know exactly when the site was open for us to occupy and regularly thereafter. Really good vibes. Clearly cares about his guests. The whole place was very well maintained. Made our short stay very comfortable. Turns out rvs and tents are not the only options at North Haven. There are cabins and, yes, even conestoga wagons to stay in. Took a sneak peek inside one wagon and it resembled a luxury hotel room. (Perhaps the pioneers and settlers didn't have it so tough after all.) We also felt very secure during our stay. The place just felt good. We are wishing we had discovered North Haven years ago, because it would have been a regular stop on our travels down from the Great White North. Thanks for the stay Munro. Take care.

North Haven Campground was such a fun and beautiful place to stay this summer! Me and my daughter stayed in cabin 5 with my sister and her 2 children. There was plenty of room for all of us with the fold out sofa bed and the giant king size bed. And the king bed was SO comfortable! It was nicer than any hotel bed I’ve ever slept in and the pillows and linens were also super luxurious and very clean! The full kitchen was also a godsend with the late nights and hungry children that go along with vacationing. It was so nice to not have to pack any cooking supplies or have to start a fire to make our food. On top of having great cabins, there was also a cute little camp store where we could get free breakfast, and on some of the days they even had real Hawaiian shaved ice out front! That was definitely a highlight for me. My daughters favorite thing was how close the campground was to amazing hikes and waterfalls. If you love being in nature, but not necessarily living in it, I highly recommend staying in North Haven’s Cabins! But if you really love roughing it, I noticed they had some cute tent sites as well 😉

Our recent visit to North Haven CG.

Upon making our reservation on line, we received a helpful and complete greeting text from Munro, Owner/Manager. The text set a tone of helpfulness, provided all necessary information, and included communication paths to him should we have any questions or need local information. As we were arriving from Canada after a very windy drive, we were delighted to request and be given a little earlier check-in as the guest from the night before had departed.

Arrival: The included instructions were complete, and arrival signage was thoughtfully located to facilitate easy navigation. Our site was clean, and included a very nice picnic table and a generous sized fire pit. The 20/30/50 amp connections were on the newer side, the water plentiful with good pressure, and a CLEAN sewer connector.

Shortly after arrival, we met the owner, who made certain all was well.

The campground is reminiscent of a nice State park - still rustic enough to feel like you’re camping, but with all of the site conveniences of a full hookup resort.

Firewood and some basic supplies were available 24/7 by an honor system, paid by cash into a lock slot, or Venmo, etc.

The restrooms were SPOTLESS. Really. We didn’t use the showers, but they looked great!

Same goes for the laundry, spotless.

The camp is located near Hy95, just far away enough to mute the highway noise, but close enough to be convenient. There are 2 very large travel centers near Hy95, to fill up or find last minute items.

We found a nice mixture of longer term folks, largely in one area, some with well-behaved kids, and short term guests like ourselves. Despite this, sites were tidy, and the people welcoming.

After more than 4 weeks on the road, we rate this one of our top experiences overall, and would certainly return.

Last thoughts: Those in very large rigs with slides on both sides might feel more comfortable in the newer, more open sites, however we enjoyed the private feeling of greenery on both sides...
