Budget Host — Hotel in Botkins

I read the reviews and being the optimist that I am decided that it couldn't be that bad. Besides, I had a discount and it's owned by a disabled Vet. I wanted to support this! It was my birthday and I was traveling to go to a family reunion. Plus, they serve breakfast!||||I got there and they wouldn't accept the discount that I have on an app I pay $25 a month for! The problem was that up and down the highway are signs stating that the price is $41.95 a night. When I got there with my $31.95 discount they didn't honor it and were going to charge me over $60 a night. In the end, they charged me $47 for the "last room they had." The YELP reviews stated that the Inn was owned by a disabled vet so I wanted to support! The owner told me that his father was the disabled vet and he bought the place 7 years ago from him and his ex-wife, so no disabled vet owner or honored price as advertised||||I can't hold the owners completely responsible for the guests they sell rooms to, but the "non-smoking room" that I was sold was completely fulled with the smell of Marijuana to the point that I had to go and buy a candle at Walmart to burn all night. The girl at the desk did loan me a bottle of Oder Ban and give me a mostly burned out candle.||||There was a bedspread and sheets, cigarette burns all over the bathtub and only soap, no shampoo, in the bathroom. ||||This was a disappointment, but a great story at the reunion. Especially with me smelling like POT with a bunch of old Lutheran...

Was told we'd be totally amazed with the remodel they had done in the room, the room was supposed to be 53.95. Got there to check in and the rate was 80.00 for the room because they were all booked up and only had 4 rooms left and the price was higher because the room we were offered was a total remodel. Went ahead and agreed to pay the price. Got into the room and it was dirty, wallpaper literally was peeling off the wall and the smoke detector was removed with the wires hanging from the ceiling. This room looked as if it had never been cleaned and the air conditioner barely kept the room cool. For a non smoking room it smelled like a smoking room, plus the comforter had two cigarette burn holes in it..I ended up tossing it on the floor and just slept with the sheet. Totally disappointed and disgusted. The restaurant/ bar was not impressive but the food was good and decently priced. The free breakfast was good and cooked to order. The only thing I can say was nice about this place. If your in this area please drive the extra 10 minutes to much nicer places to stay and much nicer places and more to pick from to eat.. I'd give zero stars if the option...

When we walked in this hotel I was baffled with the set up. A big round table with 2 chairs can’t even get to the side of the bed. The look being stuck in the 80’s smells like mold throughout can’t clean there bathroom tub. Our bedsheets had cum stains and even red stuff. Air conditioner doesn’t hardly work. Don’t expect room service because we asked for towels and toilet paper and they refused. So by our second night we had nothing. There’s a 25 dollar deposit don’t expect to get it back unless you do their job. We had asked for it back because they explained it was refundable. LIARS. No note all the trash that we had. I had put it neatly in a bag and all towels and dirty sheets and blankets in a pile no mess at all. The response I got was “ that room is a mess. I’m not cleaning that you have to do that to get your deposit back.” They expect you to clean your sheets and throw out the trash yourself. Out of all the hotels I’ve been to that’s been the worst experience for me...
