We hadn't planned to stay in Boulder City but a political event in Las Vegas ate up all the hotel rooms in the vicinity. We were very fortunate to get what may have been the last room at Lake Mead Inn. We paid $159.00 US a night for a double queen room and stayed two nights. The staff we interacted with couldn't have been more kind and accommodating. I wanted to do some laundry and purchased a little container of Tide in the cute little store in the front office. It was supposed to come with a dryer sheet but they were out. The gentleman who was helping me tried SO hard to find me a dryer sheet! Our room was quite far from the guest laundry and it was unbearably hot out so I opted to just hand wash a few things in the tub. Needed a tub plug and asked for one at the desk. Turns out they buy disposable tub plugs by the case and they gave me one at no charge. On one hand a bit of an inconvenience to have to go ask. On the other hand, it is more sanitary and hey, I now own my very own tub plug! The air conditioning from the neighboring unit vented into our room's little patio and spat hot air all night so our patio could only be used for drying laundry but again it was over 110 degrees outside and I was not about to sit outside. We did not use the pool due to the heat. It looked like other guests were using it and there was a sail over the pool in an attempt to provide some shade. Very limited breakfast options, we went to a little restaurant in town. The hotel is on the route to Hoover Dam and the Lake Mead recreational area. It is a short drive to downtown. There is a Chevron station right next door so convenient for snacks a fuel.
The room was clean but had a dated feel to it.
I didn't take any photos of our room and I doubt readers need to see a photo of my souvenir tub plug. Overall, I would stay here again if I were in...
Read moreIt's the quality inn boulder city. They just changed there name! I've been trying to reach the owner to just tell him what happened during my stay at his hotel. But I'm getting very rude people not letting me. 1st when I book it states breakfast & upon checking in, the gentleman informed me breakfast was at 6:30 am! I show up at 6:30 and got looked at like I'm crazy, told they stopped breakfast 10 days ago, but all utensils was out. There restaurant was CLOSED. this caused issues with me. I love the hotel. But if I knew this would of either brought breakfast or stayed elsewhere at that time for the price just way to much. My room was comfortable and the best location for my service dog as right next to open area to walk around & privacy. Definitely recommend that room for one with service dog. I was charged (deposit)extra as if I had a pet & a service dog is not a pet & ada requirements legally again discrimination on this. The owner a sweet guy. I just wish he knew the the things his staff did. It made my stay uncomfortable. I have nothing against this hotel. Just what happened during my stay with the staff. They did remove all the grass so be aware lol. Lake view even in other actual view rooms not all spectacular. But a peak a boo. Hottub not open. Only warm weather unfortunately. I've been staying here on & off forever. It did use to have aawesome aawesome breakfast buffet, then a grab in go breakfast. Obviously nothing now.. so be prepared or stay upthe road at the new best western with indoor pool & hottub & big breakfast & step away from all the beautiful downtown has. And beautiful park. Awesome bars, stores/antique shops & museum etc. Still this is my favorite for per personal reasons thou. It's old yes. Don't expect best...

What was supposed to be a simple one-night stay turned into one of the most revolting experiences I’ve ever had while traveling.
The issues began with a large gap under the door that allowed hot air to pour into the room all night, rendering the AC nearly useless. But as it turns out, a poorly sealed door was the least of my concerns.
When I woke up the next morning, I was horrified to discover rat droppings on my bed, just inches from my pillow. Let that sink in. A rodent had clearly been in my bed while I slept. I immediately documented everything with photos and brought it to the attention of the hotel staff.
As I packed to leave, I found a dirty woman’s tank top stuffed behind the head of the bed, a clear indication that the bedding hadn’t even been changed from the previous guest. I was sleeping in someone else’s filth — a stranger’s skin cells, sweat, and God knows what else — under the illusion of “cleanliness.”
I naturally requested a refund, as no one should be expected to pay for conditions that are both unhygienic and unsafe. The front desk coldly denied any reimbursement, showing zero accountability or concern.
Adding insult to injury, the hotel has the gall to leave tipping envelopes in the room for housekeeping. Tipping? For a staff that doesn’t even perform the most basic aspect of their job — changing the sheets?
This wasn’t just a bad stay. This was a health hazard, a violation of trust, and a blatant ripoff. If you value your well-being, do not stay here. Spend your money somewhere that respects its guests enough to provide a clean, safe...
