Deer Lake Villas - Boyne Mountain Resort — Hotel in Boyne Valley Township

Occasion: Winter family ski trip

Location: nice and secluded on a frozen lake. Boyne offers a free (with expected tips) shuttle to and from anywhere on campus including the main lobby and ski drop off area. It's much better to take shuttle to go skiing than drive your own vehicle only to park and take another shuttle. Can get very windy at this area so be careful especially with storm door.

Unit: Overall nice if you can Overlook some small stuff. We had a 2br 2 bath with king bed and two queens. Older but clean and comfortable furnishings. Newer kitchen, only issue was a few missing items (large boiling pot and spatula). Nice and comfortable bed. HVAC unit was a little noisy and seemed to have trouble keeping unit warm in cold weather. Like other reviewer said heat vents are on ceiling so floor is a little cold. The two bathrooms have electric wall heaters which are nice but one was broken. Bathtubs are made of metal so a little cold to touch. Water heaters aren't nearly enough for the size of unit we had to boil pots of water just to get our 3 kids a warm bath. Bathroom fans are super noisy and could be replaced. Wifi worked great.

Service: Overall great! Be wary.. even if you book 3rd party you Will have to pay a 160$ Housekeeping fee. We booked an Interval Getaway and thought we had paid in full only to find out at check in. They have some international employees that are friendly but hard to understand sometimes so just ask for a manager if your issue is more complex. At first we didn’t know what to expect about our stay near Boyne Mountain Resort but when we got to the Deer Lake villa (4) we loved the area.

Very large rooms very close to Boyne it's part of the resort. It's somewhat dated. But the views are great, generally quiet here there's only two units per building upstairs have basically 8 balconies. Downstairs units have a like amount of patios.
