I was here for the rehearsal dinner for a dear friend’s wedding, and had the most upsetting experience with restaurant staff of my life. Service was slow and our server seemed annoyed with us, but we had arrived late (due to a medical emergency with the bride’s mother, but still) so I assumed they were just overwhelmed and frustrated and I didn’t take it personally. When the checks came, I grabbed the bride and grooms check and added it to mine. After announcing to the table and surrounding guests that I was paying two bills for some reason, our server ran my card for both. I signed one slip for the total of both checks plus tip, left the slip in the folder on the table, and got up to use the restroom before leaving. When I came out, our server approached me in the middle of all the patio, surrounded by other guests eating dinner, and loudly asked “You’re the one who paid two bills, right?” Confused, I said “Yes, why?” She proceeded to accuse me, very loudly and among all the other guests at their tables, of not signing the slip. She said “All three slips are missing, so you need to come sign a new one.” She brought me back to the register and showed me everyone else’s bills from our table and said “Yours isn’t here.” I was baffled and incredibly embarrassed. I told her I had no idea why it wouldn’t be there, as I hadn’t taken any of the slips, not even the customer copy. She rolled her eyes at me, clearly thinking she’d had me pegged as someone trying to run out on a bill. I was so stunned and humiliated and had no idea what to do next. She insisted that I sign another slip, which I wasn’t comfortable doing. I tried to call my fiancé to see if she had some idea as to where the slips were left, but the call dropped. I walked away from the register and out into the patio area to try the call again. The server actually followed me out with a slip and pen, and even louder than before said “You just need to sign the check.” At that point I just left... According to my bank records, the full amount including the tip I wrote in has been charged to my card, so I’m guessing staff managed to find the missing slips. I hope some of that tip goes to the hardworking bus staff. This was such an upsetting experience, and after having been treated as an annoyance from the moment we arrived, it was just kind of the icing on the unprofessional cake. Needless to say, I will...
Read moreWhile this place had a fantastic view of the lake and good food, the service here left quite a lot to be desired. Our waitress (Heather) didn't come check on us very often (if at all) during our visit and our food took quite some time to come out. She was not very welcoming or friendly during our time at the restaurant. The food taking a while to come out could be chalked up to taking some extra time to make sure all of our meals came out together, but we had gotten there prior to a few other visitors and we were the last to leave as well (there were 8 of us in the party). It was not the experience we wanted while celebrating the bride-to-be.
One of our party members found a bug in her espresso martini, but that was taken care of by having her drink remade. My other main complaint is that this is a cash-free restaurant; I do not like the concept of them as it is very unhelpful when trying to tip your server. Gratuity was included for being a large party, so be aware. I hope that our experience here is better next time, as the place itself is rather nice. It's the service that didn't live up to our...
Read moreWe had high hopes for this restaurant, especially with its stunning view, but unfortunately the experience fell short. Despite having a reservation and being seated promptly, we waited over 10 minutes before anyone came by with water or offered drinks.
We started with the focaccia bread basket, which was disappointing—it wasn’t focaccia at all, just plain table bread and not good. The oysters were overly milky and unappetizing, and the cocktails were weak and underwhelming having to ask for extra additive ice to make them good.
As for the main courses, they ranged from bad to just okay—nothing memorable or worth recommending. Chicken sandwhich was the best on the menu. The only standout was the view, which is undeniably beautiful, but sadly not enough to justify the rest of...
