We are spending the summer on the road camping due to Covid-19, and stopped in here for 2 nights to be in the Bozeman area to replenish supplies and check out the town. When we were looking for a campground near the town, the pickings were very slim.......this place had mixed reviews, so we were hesitant, but the location was perfect. ||We arrived around 1pm, and were quickly checked in and shown to our site. They’ve done a great job with the social distancing, only allowing you to check in through a window and not walk in the store. The staff was friendly and explained how it worked with the hot springs, breakfast and bathrooms. ||I will admit, the sites are TIGHT. We were in site J5. This is an old KOA, and our site is clearly part of the older area. Now, after walking around the park, I highly recommend getting a back in sites that start with the letter K. These were large with concrete patios. The C sites were beautiful, with huge lawns behind for kids to play and to have a BBQ, but, buyer beware, the outdoor pools of the Bozeman hot springs are right behind them, so if you want to go to bed early, or are a light sleeper, I would steer clear. I imagine you can hear the music and people very late, as the pools close after midnight.||Having access to the Bozeman hot springs were great - we went on Saturday night at 9:30pm when they open (due to religious believes, the hot springs are closed from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. We stayed for about 45 minutes and then walked back to our site. All you need is to wear a swimsuits, bring a water bottle/beverage and towels and you are set to go to the pools.||Bathrooms were fine, although, my partner complained that there weren’t enough stalls in the men’s room.||They are clearly putting a lot of money into this place, as the camping cabins were adorable, and the upgrades around the RV resort were very nice. I think they will have to eventually address the very close and not so nice sites in the old area, but right now, it was a great jumping off point for a short stay in the area. I would not recommend using this as a vacation spot or a place to stay longer than a few nights, but it is safe, clean and loved by the family that owns and...
Read moreThis is owned by the Bozeman Hot Springs. It is no longer a KOA. Lady in office was a witch. Unwilling to help at all. We arrived at ll:10 am. Yes we were early, but checkout is 11, so people should have been out of their sites. She snapped at me from the moment I walked in the door. My 2 sisters also camped there and got the same treatment. My sister had made reservations for 3 nights, but they only had her for 2. Took kids to game room and nothing worked, so we decided to play cornhole. Went to office and asked for the bean bags and she said she didn't know where they were and didn't have time to look. I went back outside and my sister said the lady came to the game room and got the croquet set for someone. My nephew went to office to buy a pop and she snapped at him. There was a young man in the office in the evening and he was very nice and accommodating.Montana is in a severe fire season and idiots were having campfires. Told him in the office and he said he would go check it out. Said if he was management he would prohibit them. The wind was blowing and all it had to do was blow 1 ember into the dry grass and we all would be toast. Price included entry to the Hot Springs. They don't tell you that when you make a reservation. We didn't want the Hot Springs, but they won't take it off. Full hookup $80.00. Ridiculous. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special. Won't be giving them any more of my money. They threw my sisters out at 11am because people were coming in early???? They wouldn't let us in early. In their rules they say you can pay $10.00 and stay late. They asked about that and they said noway. So my sisters dogs had to stay in a hot camper until 2 when she could get into her site, which the people were still in at 1pm....
Read moreWe stayed at the campground and took advantage of the attached hot springs. We stayed two nights in a full hook-up pull through.
For the campground, we were quite satisfied. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.
The spaces definitely varied in size - most were smaller, though the full hook-up pull-through a offered a bit more space. The bathrooms were clean and we had decent wifi, but were closer to the office. The sites were gravel and mostly level.
The (free) breakfast exceeded our expectations and was a definite perk. There is also a dog area across the street. Is it a fenced in area in a field? Yes. Was it big enough for some running and to provide what we needed? Also yes. If you’re there in the summer, plan to visit the dog area earlier or later as there is no hiding from the sun there.
You also get free access to the hot springs. Use it. We were there in mid-August and didn’t feel over crowded. It was clean and exceptionally relaxing. There are kids, but they tend to stay in the “colder” pools - we had some jumping near us, but be an adult and ask them to stop. The inside pools were great, but outside is where the facilities shine - the landscaping, lights, and firewall all make for a remarkable experience. Towels are provided and there are lockers for rent - I didn’t take any photos as we just left our belongings back at the camper, but if you see beautiful photos and are skeptical, don’t be - it’s as good it looks.
If you’re not familiar with the area, downtown Bozeman is about a 15 minute drive away, but there are options in the Four Corners area where the campground is. At check-in, they provided some recommendations of restaurants both close by...
