General Impression: Expansive, sprawling campground set near a large lake with a fair quite a few amenities. Campground Description: This is a large, sprawling campground set 2 miles off the main road. They have 224 RV sites with 3 distinctly different camping areas. They have big open roads throughout the campground and most of the sites have long driveways with plenty of space for even the biggest of rigs. Section 2 – The Back Forty is a grid style camp area with 23 sites. Section 3 – Hollywood Boulevard has 26 sites, at least some with sewer, and they are almost entire annual/seasonal campers. Section 1 – The Suburbs has the remaining 175 of the campsites. It’s definitely the busiest section, but even this area can’t be called crowded. They also have cabin rentals and tent sites.

Campsite # 152 Our campsite as a gravel back in site. Campsite needed a little leveling. We had partial hookups with, 50 & 30 #thifty and water, but no sewer. There are a few sites with sewer but none were available for reservation. We had a picnic table and a fire ring with a layover grill attachment. There was a burn ban in effect while we were there. There was some trash in and around our campsite and also in the fire ring. No propane refill available but Ace Hardware is about 6 miles away in Bridgeport. Dump stations are located in Section 1 and 2. Wifi: The campground only has wifi at the clubhouse, not at the sites. But even at the clubhouse we couldn’t get good enough signal to run a speed test. Verizon and Starlink were good enough for streaming and conference calls. Noise Level: Noise level at this campground was quiet with no road, train, and only minor plane noise heard outside the RV. Amenities: They have bathrooms and shower houses as well as several dumpsters easily located in each of the camping sections. The bathroom décor was definitely rustic, but clean. They have one laundry room located in Section 3 with 4 washers and dryers and $2 wash $0.25/dry. They offer several community fire pits, a pool, hot tub, and kiddie pool. A playground, horseshoes, pickleball, shuffleboard, baseball, basketball, and volleyball. They have a clubhouse with a library, business center, game room, arcade games, pool, and minigolf. One note on the pool tables, we paid to play and didn’t get the right number of balls or combination of balls to play a game. We even put in money in the other table thinking perhaps that’s where the other balls were, and we still didn’t get enough correct balls to play a single game. A boat launch and a fishing pier, paddleboat rentals, bike rentals and bike trails, and a restaurant.

Dog friendly: They have a medium-sized off-leash dog area, unfortunately it’s not really convenient from any of the 3 camping areas. Pick up stations with bags and trash can: yes or no Camp store: Dollar General 1/3 mile from the entrance to the campground Walmart is about 30 miles away Amazon Locker: Amazon Locker – Cicadas – is 5 miles from the entrance to the campground

Camp staff interactions: Derrick the camp host met us on check in. He was super friendly and outgoing. Very helpful while we were here. He really seemed to care that we had a great experience! Shout out to him! Reservation...

🚩🚩🚩🚨🎌🏴‍☠️September 5th and they have no other sites but there back 40 in the middle of the woods no where near the rest of the park and amenities. If they try to put you here trust me refuse. The sewer hook ups are behind the RV space no where near where you need them. They are over grown and you can't even find the water hookups. It's old dated and disgusting. The only people really back here are employees that live here. There map shows all these spaces section after section near amenities and no full hookups. This place isn't even full. I'm a TT Southwest pass holder and I paid to stay here and they gave me 20% off but not worth it to go 53 miles out to no where off my route for 1 night for this. I'm highly disappointed . I could have stayed at many other parks along my route that were better. Shame on you TT EDIT: This by far the worst stay I ever had at a thousand trails. I forgot to mention the roads are in such disrepair that it is practically undrivable. Others complained too and the replies were " We will mention this issue to maintenance" But yet still nothing has changed only gotten worse. Then on the back 40 where I was put it's practically inhabitable. When is your grey and dark tank drain in the back of your RV. At least not on any motorhomes I know so bring a extra long drainage hose. The water hookups is hidden in over grown bushes. To top it all off if your on the back 40 your not getting any rest. They have a private airport run way not even 500 ft from my space in the 120's and even after dark small planes taking off after dark. It also messes with your wifi. This is a nightmare and honestly the back 40 should be shut down. You are miles from all amenities which after seeing isn't in the best shape either so I didn't miss much. Oh and no gravel or concrete pad to park on just lumpy bumpy burnt grass. Any reviews saying this place is great have to be lies. The entrance looks okay and the front desk people are nice but this place is a hole in the wall. Buyer Beware

Update: You say you will address my concerns but you say that to every bad review and yet, your park is still in horrible shape. It is by far the worse park in or out of Thousand Trails. Honestly the terrible shape your park is in I was terrified plugging my RV in and I honestly feel you should be shut down till you do what you keep promising. So don't reply to my review with some copy and paste reply cause it is dishonest and so are the pictures of your park. Your Park is in horrible shape and that lake or Bay is dark brown it isn't blue. So I just want everybody to imagine how you treated a Thousand Trails member that actually had to pay cuz I'm out of my zone and you treated me that way. Thousand Trails members deserve better than that. Your Park is...

Let me start by saying this is a very nice park overall. It's well maintained but very dated. Common areas were kept clean, grass was mowed, and sites were in good shape. Now let's talk the bad. Playground needs significant work. Most equipment looks to be something I played on in the 70's. Some broken that should just be removed. Staff at gate was pleasant and very helpful. We tried the snack bar and found them less inviting. I saw clear signs of staff working on improving the facilities which I took as a plus. This was our first stay and we plan on returning next month. I will see if there was any progress at that time. Just a comparison to other facilities. When we arrived we were provided a list of available sites to pick from. We were given a list of 10 sites to pick from but only 2 were actually open. I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary driving around compared to other locations. People were obviously moving around without notifying the office. Second thing a large amount the premium sites were occupied by "personal" spots. I was a little frustrated by this especially because this was our first impression of the facility. They should call the Texoma facility and ask how they keep people from jumping around without notifying them. Park is basically divided by water creating two separate camping areas. One side where all the amenities were located had fewer sites with most occupied by permanent residents. The other side was just big open camping area. Like I said overall it's a nice place but needs renovating badly. Start with the playground and remove the dangerous...

Nice park, most sites are spacious but a few are very close, most are fairly level but a few are not, activity center was clean and organized and decorated nicely, play ground was old and needs paint BUT my grandson loved it anyway. Gravel sites with picnic tables and grills and campfire rings at most of them. 50 amp, cost extra here and less than half have sewage hook ups, but they do have a honey wagon that cleans out your tanks for 10.00. They really have horrible roads but the staff is wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. We stay here every year for 6 weeks in the winter. It isn’t a perfect park like Orlando or Conroe but it is quiet, on the lake and lots of wild life like bobcats, coyote, mountain lions and deer, road runners and cardinals every where! A fishing pond, bath house, laundry, miniature golf, canoe rentals and WiFi free at the activity centers but at your trailer you have to pay for it, we do get local TV here. They offer art classes for kids and bingo, game nights to watch football and a food bar on the weekends. This would be a great park for a church group or family reunion as it has a huge pavilion and campfire ring. Cabins to rent and purchase. Annual sites for rent as well. Our Verizon gets 2-3 bars here. Yes I would recommend this park if you don’t mind BAD BAD roads.
