We decided to have a staycation for my birthday. The hotel is very nice and clean. Staff is very friendly. Just a few things that would have improved our stay:
Better spacing of others guests- The hotel had very few people staying there, I'm talking maybe 7-10 cars in the parking lot; but we
somehow got stuck with multiple families with very noisy kids near us. We could hear yelling and screaming through the walls and could hear kids running down the hallway.
Breakfast- due to COVID-19, a hotel worker had to get our free breakfast. He had on a mask and gloves. He was very friendly. He took our order one person at a time. I asked for 2 pancakes and an egg round. He proceeded to take 2 pancakes off of a counter and placed it on a plate and then walked to the other side of the room and used his gloved hand to grab an egg. My issue; why the pancake was just sitting on the counter and not on a plate or a serving platter?? I must be missing something... but honestly it was weird. I didnt see any other pancakes except for the 2 that he put on the plate for me. The other issue is, he didn't use serving utensils to pull the other food items. I don't eat meat, so when he used the same gloves to grab my egg as he did to put bacon on the previous persons plate, it really grossed me out. The bacon fat was now on my egg and my already tainted countertop pancakes.
Needless to say I didn't eat my breakfast. The breakfast was free because it was included in our stay so it was just a bonus. Better training would easily fix this problem.
Other than those two issues, I would recommend staying here. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very...
Read moreI booked by stay at this hotel for 4 nights. Upon returning to the hotel for my last night, my room key no longer allowed me to enter a side door entrance. After being forced to walk around to the front entrance, I approached the front desk. They reactivated my room key. When entering my room, the maid service had not cleaned my room. I called down to the front desk and they said they would bring me fresh towels. This took them an hour! In the process of waiting, I discovered my television no longer worked! When the towels arrived they said the tv would not be able to be fixed until the next day. I was extremely tired and this compounded my frustration. At 10am. the next morning someone came to fix the tv, but I was not able to let someone in at that time. When checking out, I addressed my complaints and frustrations with the desk person. She told me it was my fault for the room not being cleaned because the cleaning people said I had a don't disturb sign on the door. This was not true, in fact; I had left a note and a tip for the cleaning people to get when they should have cleaned my room. My frustration grew as this employee said she had to take her cleaning people's word over mine. She offered a small 20$ credit after I requested compensation. My interaction involved me talking with the manager named, Tim. I requested that I only be charged half for my room. He agreed to that but he actually only gave me a $50 credit. It should have been $83. The room key problem, no maid service, and a broken TV, and their unwillingness to take responsibility have made me determine it is likely I will not stay at this...
Read moreMy last stay at Brighman City Holiday Inn Express was very upsetting. Upon check in the person at the front desk either did not know her job or was not very happy with her position. She had "HER" Cell Phone on the counter, now I know this may not seem a problem, but it was to me. She wanted not only my Military ID, But MY Driver License and My Credit Card! Having been in Cyber Security, seeing her Cell Phone and Having All MY ID exposed at once I said No. I showed her my Military ID since that is how I made my reservations. She indicated that she Would NOT CHECK ME IN and Refused my Reservation UNLESS I gave her All 3 items. I said no and then she Accused me of Yelling AT HER. This Never Happened, I was firm in saying No she could not have all three items and that All the times in the Past my Military ID was enough. She still refused! I said I wanted to speak to the Hotel Manager and it she indicated that the manager was not there. I said to call her and of course she Used Her Cell Phone and not the hotels land line. When I held out my had to Speak to the manager, she said it was Her personal cell phone, and I was not to touch it. Which I accepted, but disappointed that I could not speak to the manager directly. I guess this front desk person did not realize how close Brighman City Holiday Inn Express came to being sued for not honoring the reservation by this person. As stated above I have stayed at this motel several times on my way to Nellis AirForce Base in Neveda. But will Not Be Staying Here Again, instead I will be staying up the street at another...
