Wow! What an experience! We had just stayed 3 nights in Coos Bay and and were looking to extend our trip so my husband could fish in Gold Beach. We called on Thursday looking for spot on Friday and Saturday night (Labor Day weekend.) It was a long shot but we were in luck! We had our choice of 2 sites! When we arrived at about 2p on Friday, the campers were already piling up! The staff was greeting every person with a smile and were hustling to get everyone situated as fast as possible. After we checked in Glen came up, introduced himself and escorted us to our site. Though my husband has been driving commercial vehicles for all of his adult life, it was awesome to have someone drive you to your site and make sure you're happy with the accommodations! We were staying in a "quad site" which has 4 trailers facing one another. I was a little concerned that we'd be too close to our neighbors but even with a 30ft trailer, 2 dogs and a toddler there was plenty of room. On Saturday night we decided to eat at the on-site restaurant. Pro tip: Make a reservation. We didn't and it was packed! But for good reason, The food was delicious! Unfortunatly the kitchen lost our order. Glen again, to the rescue! He somehow noticed that my husband had been sitting a little too long. My toddler and I had already abandoned ship when she became unwilling to wait patiently. After hearing how long he'd been there, Glen rushed off to make magic. Within minutes our food was out and totally free of charge. That was completely unexpected. We even went back for a slice of the triple chocolate cake, to go. It was killer! We have truly enjoyed our stay and we can't wait to come back every year. Yes, it's a bit dusty, but it hasn't bothered us. Glen told us that they had finished upgrading the infrastructure (it shows) just prior to the camping season. After a winter of rain, it should calm down. As a side note, when we first met Glen, my husband asked if he was the owner. We sensed a pride in ownership and a true love for his customers. He said he was "just a member of the team" but we suspect otherwise. He's just the kind of person who should be running this super...

My boyfriend made last minute reservations. Mind you it was a Tuesday when we got here .The guy who took, the reservation super nice,on the phone . When we arrived we were checked in with a lady Julie, super super nice very helpful even told us how to get to our spot ,what was really, nice was that she said it,we wanted a different spot to let,her know and long as it wasn't reserved that we could have it. Anyways, been spending time here and, really love it. Best part at night, you only hear the ocean waves, crashing its amazing .Now my only complaint is that there, are crows that like to be jerks in the early morning but, that is nature lol. Anyway today,we spent time up in the game, area. So nice to be able to,charge our, phones and play pool for free .Also played scrabble. Last night restuarnt was opened .Very good drinks and,the food was amazing. Had a small, mishap, but was taken care of ,I Actualy think the owner is the,one that made sure everything was good at our table. Now for the live music omg such a,nice guy plays, guitar and a very good song writer I myself, write music and listening to his music, has really inspired me. I asked if he knew any jim coche songs he only knew one,but when I had asked if he knew, the song have to tell you in a love song he didn't know the song its my boyfriend and i's song. He told,me he would learn it before Sunday .But we,leave Sunday so he said he would work on it,for Friday night. Which meant a lot to me .This is defeinty the place to,stay wether its rving or tent camping the prices are very affordable .We have been staying since Tuesday and we leave Sunday. My boyfriend only, paid 126 dollars. Which is a lot cheaper then staying at a hotel super 8 for 2 nights .This has been a great camp ground .We,are from Florida. And next time we go on another summer road trip or even fly out,and decide to camp here again we will .Thank you to the owners who made us feel very welcomed ,sad about leaving .But so,happy with...

Honey Bear by the Sea is BY FAR the BEST RV park we have ever stayed at.... 5 stars in every way.

We just got home from an amazing trip. We stayed at another RV park in Charleston that we ended up leaving early.

We arrived at Honey Bear during perfect southern coast fall weather, almost no wind and a wide open resort with just the right amount of guests. We chose site R, for the dogs, wide open spaces on the pond and a few trees for shade. (It was water/electric only) What a wonderful peaceful spot. Great internet connectivity. The nicest women in the front desk and gift shop. Very dog friendly. VERY clean showers and restrooms. Lots of good selections in the front office (including a well chosen thoughtful selection of wines, ciders, hard kombucha, etc)

So much to do and see from this lovely place with a sweet beach (a short walk from campgrounds)

We could have chosen ocean view, but you could hear the ocean from our site and we liked all the grass and privacy down in R. Also closer walk to the beach. Some road noise from the ocean view loop but still nice partial view sites.

It's lovely grounds. Well maintained. Friendly. Dog friendly. And beautiful little spots everywhere....

The dump station was clean and efficient. Easy pull up. Very safe locations with a relaxed and friendly vibe.

There are elk on grounds as well as amazing walking paths.

This is the only place we want to stay on the Southern Oregon coach. Gold Beach is a sweet little town.

We ate a great meal at Spinners. A few other cute little places as well. Easy drive to Brookings or Bandon.

I highly recommend calling lazy day with snacks on Arizona beach (day use just down the road) Sweet little beach with the Myrtle river running out to the ocean (fresh water for the dogs)

We love Honey Bear and can't wait to go back next...

Imagine driving across the Nevada desert when a hawk slams into your windshield at 65 mph, shattering it and leaving your motorhome completely undriveable. That’s exactly what happened to us — nearly two weeks before our scheduled reservation at Honey Bear by the Sea in Gold Beach, Oregon. We called the resort and explained the situation immediately. Despite offering to provide proof — photos, towing records, and shop communications — we were told no refund could be given. Instead, we were offered a 90-day credit, which we couldn’t use due to a prepaid, tightly scheduled travel route. My husband is a 100% disabled wartime veteran. Traveling in our RV is one of the few ways he can still comfortably experience time with our family. I reached out in good faith — not just to the resort, but also directly to Daniel Mulcahy, the founder of USA Camping Company and Outdoor Capital Management (which owns Honey Bear). He never responded. Honey Bear claims they couldn’t refund us because they’re a “small campground.” But according to their own investment site (outdoorcapital.com), they boast $11 million in annual revenue, $69 million in assets, and manage 1,100+ RV and cabin sites across the U.S. This isn’t a struggling mom-and-pop. It’s part of a multi-million-dollar private equity-backed portfolio. And yet they still chose to keep $188 from a family dealing with a genuine emergency. We’ve since filed a BBB complaint, reported the issue to the Oregon Department of Justice, and worked with our credit card provider, who refunded the charge. No empathy. No reply. No accountability. Book here at your own risk.

I would like to give this place three stars as the grounds and bathrooms were very nice. When my husband originally set up the reservations we asked to be close to our friends. He was told you can’t request specific sites and they put you wherever. Untrue because our other friends were able to get sites together. We were put in a smallish site with all hookups and ocean view which makes it the most expensive in the campground. We managed and were perfectly comfortable. They offer free Wi-Fi but it barely works. No where on the check in paperwork is the check out times nor did they mention it upon check in. Our cell service was spotty and I couldn’t pull up the website to verify. I should have asked because I assumed noon like most campgrounds we have stayed out through Oregon. Checkout was 11am. We left our site by noon and pulled down to some friends that were staying an extra day. We ended up leaving the campground at 2pm. We noticed an extra $50 charge on our account. We were told that because we didn’t checkout on time and the camera saw us leaving at 2pm we were charged. If you let them know ahead of time it’s a $15 fee to checkout late. My husband let the owners know they must need the money more than us and lesson learned. The picture shows me standing in the other persons spot to take the picture the end of the table is the line of where our campsite ends. Read through the website before booking there are a lot of things they can and will charge you for. We cleaned up our campsite before and afterwards upon leaving.

Great for RVs with a sewer hookup. Tent campers and those in trailers without potties will find an unexpectedly long walk to bathrooms and showers (annoying for us; I doubt we’ll return). Tent and partial hookup sites are quite shady and quiet, though. The rec room is great, though open for limited hours (mostly when you’d want to be out and doing, so probably perfect for rainy days at the coast). Under 16yos must be accompanied by an adult in the rec room. The beach access is strenuous at best, risky at worst, as it requires you to cross two busy roads (one is Hwy 101) to arrive to a beach that’s close to the highway. There is a restroom at the beach access point though, so that’s a plus. If you have little ones, plan to drive to beaches rather than walking there. Service was friendly and our almost-teens enjoyed the playground and visiting the ponds. They sell firewood for $10/bundle and ice for $4 per 8# bag. Plenty of merch for sale at the front desk as well as basic camping “crap we forgot the” items. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am and seem to be well-observed. The many boat-towing campers were pretty quiet leaving camp early in the morning. All dogs I saw were kept on-leash. We did see elk in the “dog park” section one evening, which was great. Port Orford has everything you’d need, though it’s a bit of a haul. Gold Beach is much smaller and less tourist-oriented, but has a lot of grocery options. Jerry’s Rogue Jets are well-worth the price if you want to see more of the Rogue River.
