Our cabin was absolutely beautiful. We had an ocean-view and all the amenities we needed and more. We have visited here twice before and thought it would become an annual vacation. Our youngest son who has special needs loves it here. We enjoyed our stay immensely. However, checking in was a very unpleasant experience. The resort must be under new management. When we arrived to check in, the staff was very rude. We were unaware we had to check in by a specific time. There was no mention of this when I reserved the room. We informed the staff when we booked, we were traveling from Redding, CA and were not sure what time we would arrive. Not once did anyone mention in the office the check in closed. As we arrived the staff member was locking the door to the office. I informed her we had a reservation. Very rudely she stated she closed down the office and we were late. She started complaining and telling me she could not run our credit card and we should have arrived sooner. She mentioned she called us. There was no call from the resort or message displayed on my phone. She opened the door to the office as I informed her we had a gift certificate and we could pay for the next days stay when the office opened in the morning. She was very rude as she chastised and criticized me. She stated,, "You rescheduled twice and now you are late!" She was very unprofessional. She initiated arguing with me about our stay. We were given the gift certificate as my birthday gift last summer. Due to the CARR fire we were not able to use it, during my birthday. If we did not have a gift certificate, and our son was not so happy to be here, we would not have stayed after the way I was treated. When I asked for a receipt for our first nights stay the staff member Sydney wrote up a illegible receipt. I asked her for her name or signature on the receipt. She scribbled. Twice, I had to ask what her name was. She was apprehensive to provide me with her name. Once we checked in to our room, I called the resort phone number and Sydney answered. I asked to speak with a manager. She told me I would have to call back on Monday. What type of resort has no manager on duty to meet the needs of their guests? I called her back a second time to ask the managers name since Sydney would not assist me. The second time I called she hung up on me. The room we stayed in was over $400.00 for 2 nights. This was a special occasion and get away for all of us. We planned this for a very long time. As much as we love the cabin and resort, I will not return unless the management changes. A resort of this size and cost should have onsite management available to guests to handle these types...

Unless the 241 per night being paid for a cottage in July is in Pesos and not U.S. dollars, I would not recommend this place.

PRO: Beautiful setting with beautiful views CON: More than one outdoor cat owned by full time residents so while looking up at beautiful views also look down for cat feces and fleas because they are both there around the grounds.

PRO: Unit comes with vacuum, broom and mop CON: Broom was needed right upon arrival. The whole place needed to be swept because there was a lot of debris, including small rocks and other people's hair, on the floor

PRO: Comfortable bed with high thread count sheets CON: Being awaken numerous times per night by ants in the bed crawling on sleepers

PRO: Big deck attached to cottage CON: Unsecured trash on deck brings either rodents, raccoons or outdoor cats who make noise at night on deck and leave messes on deck found by guests in the morning

PRO: Recliner in cottage livingroom CON: Recliner lever is not properly attached to Recliner

PRO: Windows in livingroom facing privacy hedges still give plenty of light CON: Blinds to let that light in those livingroom windows are broken

PRO: Window in shower to let out steam CON: Not enough hot water for two people to take a shower one after the other or for one person to wash hair AND bath body

PRO: Deep sink in bathroom CON: Bathroom sink drains slowly

PRO: Integrated stereo system CON: Speakers don't work on radio setting

PRO: Good size flat screen in livingroom CON: Screen does not actually come on even when ON light is clearly on on TV. Also TV is not connected to Internet so guests can not cast their own programming to TV from their device

PRO: Heater that heats the cottage fast CON: Heater is needed because unit is under insulated. When it is hot outside unit is really hot and when temperatures drop unit is really chilly

PRO: Fan in dining area to circulate air in unit CON: Not all the fan settings work

PRO: Plenty of reading lamps in livingroom CON: Arrived to find a note from staff letting guests know not all the lamps work

PRO: WiFi is fast and can support multiple devices streaming PRO: All the kitchen appliances (microwave, coffee maker, stove, oven, refrigerator) all worked just fine and were clean PRO: Plenty of outlets in unit

This place is more of a glorified hostile. Let's say there is no limit on the number of people who sleep per cottage (I do not KNOW that this is the case). Then paying $241 per night while using this place to as a base camp for six college friends with low standards as they hike the Oregon Coast might make the value match the price. But $241 for two people makes the value NOT...

Booked a cabin quite a few weeks in advance was quoted one price, upon arrival I asked questions regarding check in times and such because we were traveling here from a few hours away. Lady on the phone said whenever we arrive as long as the room is ready we could get checked in. We arrived at 1 pm and was told "oh I can't check anyone in until 2" um okay. So we waited the hour, once 2 pm hit we went to check in where we were rudely greeted by Paul who then said "check in is not until 3" I explained I was aware and the lady said 2 was fine the room was already ready and we had to wait until 2, he huffed and puffed and finally checked us in. Once we arrived to the cabin I realized I was over charged 15$ and with only a short time for our vacation day in this cabin I figured I'd ask about it later. We went in and immediately smelled a horrible fishy odor, again only having this cabin for a short time we went in and ignored it. I was going to call down to the lobby and tell them then but there is no phone in the cabin and we both had 0 service. I didn't want to waste any time driving back down there only to have to wait for them to clean it or move us we only had ONE DAY. The cabin itself was fine, balcony is beautiful. After our short stay we went to check out and told them about the smell, the lady at the desk said "oh we have alot of fishermen and people that go crabbing, I'll have someone clean the room" well shouldn't you have noticed that and or cleaned it prior to our stay? There is NO WAY someone didn't notice this horrific smell. We left unsatisfied because we are hardworking individuals with a new baby and only had one day to spend together to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and we spent a whopping 250$ on this cabin for one night and even came home to the fishy odor left over on all of our belongings. I did call the manager regarding this issue prior to leaving (she wasn't there the day we were) and she cared not even a little bit. Then had the audacity to say we hope you try us again. Ha! Never never never. Oh and it was 15$ extra because of a new tax that came into effect AFTER I made my reservation and got a price. You think they would've mentioned that. For 250$ I could've spent a night in a mediocre hotel and gotten a massage to relax, but I chose this place and to pay the price for great service and a relaxing stay. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. Enjoy Brooking's beauty from...

I’m not sure where to start… the cabins haven’t been updated very well. I’m pretty sure the toilet seat is from the early 2000’s. There’s siding coming off outside and an overgrown bush that knocked out a railing fence that has obviously been ignored for a long time. The shower lasted 8 minutes before the hot water went out. The oven doesn’t work. The heater doesn’t work. It smells off in the whole place especially when you walk in. Broken blinds. The shower floor has grip tape peeling off. The door to the bedroom has a handle that is missing but has been taped over and had gloves shoved inside, smh. It’s just dingy and they obviously don’t care about fixing things. And the office even asked “how the cabin looked” as if they didn’t already know about its problems. On the other hand… The living room and dining room are very spacious and I love the windows. This is in a great location across from Whaleshead. The fridge is a good size and there’s a lot of cooking utensils and cookware. Lots of storage space for anything. The wrap around porch is pretty cool.

This place was absolutely disgusting. The thermostat battery was dead, which meant no hot water at all — totally unacceptable. The house had a terrible smell, and it was filthy everywhere. • Thermostat / Hot Water: The thermostat shut down due to a dead battery, leaving us with no hot water. • Cleanliness: Leftover food in drawers, dirty dishes, sticky stains, and crumbs everywhere. • Smell: The kitchen and oven smelled awful, with baked-on grease and old food left inside. • Freezer / Fridge: Filled with grime and residue — clearly not cleaned between guests. • General Hygiene: Trash and gloves left in drawers, dirty glasses, and bugs/crumbs in multiple places. This was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. The property is not being maintained, and it feels unsanitary and unsafe. Strongly recommend avoiding this place.

What a dump this place has become. We use to stay here all the time over the last 8 years. This will be my last visit. Tried several cabins. Ov6 horrible, t12 run down, the list goes on. None have a working bbq, but all are filled with dirty linens and smell. Windows broken- don't open, blinds broken and wrapped up. Absolutley horrible beds, just a bunch of dirty cabins. The house keeping seems to be the problem to me but I'm not behind the scenes if you know what I mean. Place should be in the neighbor hood of $99 a night in this condition, definitely not $230 A NIGHT. my hard earned money will stay else where from here on out. Im just a blue collar guy not some uppity city guy and I think it's bad- what does that tell ya. This review is only for the cabins, have no idea how the rv section is. Views are nice however
