We loved the sky ridge yurts! We stayed in Fontana which was huge with a king sized bedroom, a full gorgeous kitchen with seating and a beautiful bathroom. It had everything you could need and more! Very thoughtfully designed with every creature comfort in mind. No detail left unturned, the yurt even had a huge washer and dryer. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding and pillows were luxurious. Central AC and heat kept us comfy too. The rest of our group stayed in Januluska which has 2 queen bedrooms, which had a really cool layout with a great deck off of the master bedroom with spectacular views. The owner Melissa is patient and kind, answered all of our questions, responded quickly, generous with recommendations, and took every measure to make our stay amazing, including giving us her # in case we needed guidance getting there. Clearly she is passionate about this yurt village, as she designed this special spot. It is immaculately kept, the yurts were sparkling clean and cozy. The property manager Kathy and the other staff we encountered were most kind and helpful. This is an amazing place for a group, family reunion, couples retreat, or for a solo traveler. There is a cute riverside restaurant about a 4 min drive away. We hope to return to Sky Ridge Yurts, it is a luxurious and unforgettable experience! Thank you Melissa for creating this beautiful place. We cannot...
Read moreEver have a trip that not only met - but exceeded - your expectations? Well, we just had one of those. Our first visit to Sky Ridge Yurts in Bryson City, North Carolina was exquisite. The owner, Melissa Little, was extremely accommodating and made sure our stay was delightful - and it was. While the name of the establishment is Sky Ridge Yurts - and they do have many Yurts - we stayed in the beautiful and very modern Stecoah House. It easily accommodates up to six people. Hence, it was more than enough space for the two of us. We didn't need to bring anything with us - all towels, sheets, soap, shampoo, etc. were there for our use. There is also a washer/dryer on the second floor in case you need it. WiFi? Yes! It's there and it works! We had complete privacy surrounded by trees and fabulous views of the Smokey Mountains. A nice firepit out back was great for a chilly night as was the gas grill for our steaks! The house also has a gas fireplace - push a button and you're ready to relax. There are also great hiking options nearby to waterfalls and clear mountain streams. The Smokey Mountain National Park is also close - so many options to choose from - along with the quaint, nostalgic downtown Bryson City. || There are simply not enough words to describe our enjoyment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank Melissa Little for her...
Read moreThis was easily 5 stars if not more! Great directions into the property, contactless & effortless check-in/check - out and the thoughtfulness of items needed for a weekend or longer was very much appreciated. The lil brown bag of coffee was so kind & enough for the weekend. I travel with coffee/ creamer so this was very sweet. Also the Yurt book with recommendations of the area was beyond thoughtful & probably family in the pictures- just an awesome touch! We stayed in the Cherokee yurt so behind us was the main road, trees bare, it was February and road is being utilized for all traffic because of I- 40 closure ( I think). You can totally hear ALL road noise. We did have the luxury of mother nature rearing her/his head while we tried to sleep- 1st night sounded magical; soft rain, light wind= perfect! That didn't happen our 2nd evening buttttt the yurt held her own- light flapping, you are ultimately in a tent, pounding rain buttttt stayed dry, we're good with that but man oh man what a rain storm! 10 AM rolled around pretty fast after a sleepless night! Just another night under the stars. Still an absolutely darling stay. Go and enjoy the Yurt/ Glamping experience and TY to such amazing,...
